Honda "RidgeLine"? What kind of name is that? - Click HERE for Original Thread

That is the name of the new "SUT". Yuck.

CR-V, Pilot, Ridgeline.....

I personally like the name.

My problem is with the design.
SteveLuman
They should have named it "Buck Rogers".

Pilot is a strange name for a car too! Then Lincoln had to go and re-badge the explorer and call it the Aviator...who's gonna get inline for the name Treeline, or Ridgecrest to copy Honda now?

I'd rather be the Pilot than the navigator any day.:4:

They both depreciate at a rapid rate? ;)
HOO PILOT
Yikes! One can only hope the final product looks a LOT better than the concept vehicle! Which end goes first?

It's a stupid name, just like Avalanche or Canyon.

I still wonder why the Pilot Pen Company never raised a stink about the Honda Pilot like they did with the PalmPilot PDA?:p I also wish I could find my PalmPilot; it'll be a collectors item one day. ;)

I always thought it was strange Honda would name another one of their vehicles 'Pilot'. They already made a 'Pilot' -- it's an ATV.
waynerd
The Odyssey was an ATV, too. I think the Passport was as well. I guess they didn't have to go through all the rigamaroll for coming up with new names...just recycle ones they already had.

Ridgeline isn't too bad....I still think it looks like a Honda mini-Avalanche.
tangotango99
They should have named it after me Tango :2:

Trademarks only apply if there is likelihood of confusion.

Pen (and paper) organizer companies were already in the electronic organizer market. (mostly paper organizers with a calculator or phone book device).

The automotive market is fairly far removed.

LOL.

You will notice that "FORD" has themes going with it's current line of vehicles. All the names start with "F", except the outgoing models.

All their SUV's have a common theme:

Explorer, Expedition, Excursion ("Adventure")

The merc's do too:

Navigator, Aviator ("flight")

Dumb idea, then again I like the name "RidgeLine"

It's going to be interesting to see if the production vehicle's front end looks the same as the prototype.

For some reason I keep seeing a similarity here (not necessarily a bad thing ;) )

Ha!!!!! Would that include "Fubar"????

:2:

(sorry - couldn't resist)

Chevy has done some of the same over the years:
Chevelle, Camero, Cavalier, Corvette, Corvair, Citation, etc.....
