Dashboard Crease On Airbag Cover - Click HERE for Original Thread
Aru4mie
Hi!
I noticed the presence of crease potruding from the surface of the airbag cover. The airbag cover is on the dashboard (passenger side) where the words SRS AIRBAG is embossed. Said crease is visible within the airbag cover and is rectangular in shape. Some Honda Pilots have it, and some don't. And some are more visible than the others who have it. Is this normal? Can this be removed?
I just hope its not an indication that there is something wrong with the passenger side airbag.
Thanks. :)

Unfourtuetly , I think that is normal on just about every airbag cover.

They have to make it thin where it is suposed to tear, and the thin part streaches some.

I can't recall a car where the passenger side airbag cover didn't look different from the rest of the dash. Even with my RX 330, where there is no separate cover, you can clearly see the outline of a rectangle with a big X in it, marking where the dash will blow open when the bag releases. (And how dumb is it that you have to replace the entire dash pad when the bag blows. I guess the thinking is that the bag blows, it's declared totalled, and you buy something else.)
