I get a thumping noise on front passenger side suspension at speed bumps and similar as the wheels are moving down the bump. Just in one side. Has anyone had this problem..please give suggestions.

Visually check the front passenger side strut for oil leak. If there is an oil leak, your strut need to be replace.
BTW, welcome to h-p.org!

I just dropped my 2004 pilot at dealership for a new strut, I get a "springy" noise, so theyre going to change the right front strut. I hope the noise goes away.

Are they going to replace both the front strut or just the right front strut?
IMO, it's better to replace both the front strut to make the suspension even.;)

Just the right one for now, I'll see how it is afterwards. It was pretty noisey, I'll see if there is anymore noises after they fix the right one.

Our '04 makes a thumping / rattling noise when going over bumps and has done since new. It is WORSE on the passenger side. It sounds like you're driving over a loose manhole cover.

I took it in twice and the dealer told me both times that it doesn't make any UNUSUAL noises. I lost interest since my wife isn't bothered by it and it's her car. I must say that I have been disapointed in our Pilot's initial quality. Lots of stupid little things wrong with it. We're also very annoyed by the constant rough downshifting it does on the highway - VERY un-Honda if you ask me.

My 6 year old beater VW has less rattles than our 6 month old Pilot.

Anyway, what I really wanted was a sports car so maybe I'm just bitter.

FWIW, this is fixed in the '05 model.

Just picked up the Piot from the dealer. The repair order now states that they replaced the left strut, not the right as first reported. It is much better now no noises unless I really crank the steering wheel. :2:
