Goodyear is running rebates on its tires.
Right now, you can get a $75 rebate on Fortera HL tires which is the tire that Id currently recommend to most Pilot owners.
You can explore the rebate promotion here:

Honestly, its pretty hard to find anybody saying anything bad about the Fortera. Consumer reports has it rated as its top tire for SUVs and last I checked Tirerack.com had it ranked 4th.
With a $75 rebate it suddenly becomes a bit more competitive with some of the other brands. Its probably possible to buy the tires and get them installed for under $100 per tire with the current rebate and thats a good price.

Looks like the rebate ended at the end of November, but I'm curious to know why this is the tire you'd recommend to most Pilot owners? |

From my own perspective, I can say that the Forterra's improve the ride and lower the noise. The tires seem to grip the road better than the Integrity and Bridgestone tires that come as OEM tires. I think they look better and though I havent been offroading with them they would seem to handle offroad, snow, rain and other demanding conditions better than the OEM tires that Ive seen. Im getting great gas mileage but that may be due to other factors.
Aside from my own personal opinions, the Fortera tires dont seem to ever get bad reviews. Consumer reports had them at the top of their ratings and tirerack has them rated 4th.

There are tires at consumer reports that dont do well at tirerack and other tire rating forums while there are tires at tirerack that dont do well at consumer reports. The Fortera tires are rated highly across the board by all accounts wherever you check and its hard to find anybody that really doesnt like them.
If the Fortera HL tires do have a problem its that some people are reporting that they dont last the 60,000 miles of rated tread life. Most people dont check the air in their tires as frequently as they should and keep them rotated and balanced.
I think that if you do proper maintenence on your tires as you should that you will get the 50,000 miles of use out of them and perhaps 60,000 or a bit more. But thats my opinion and experience.
I cant really say that Ive ever found a flaw with these tires though I havent really used them for the 30,000 miles that Id need to before giving them a proper review. Still, they seem fabulous to me.
Im sure that if somebody were to look for a better winter tire they could find it. Im sure that if somebody were to look for a better mud (offroad) tire they could find it. Im sure there are cheaper tires. Im sure that there are tires with higher tread ratings. Im sure that everybody has a different budget, use, or requirement for tires than that which meet my needs. Still, for me the Fortera's are almost ideal.
As far as a general purpose tire that succeeds across a wide variety of needs, uses, and conditions the Fortera seems to me to be about the best tire that anybody could really want. I think they improve the ride and noise of the car a great deal and they feel safer with improved handling and response in the car. Some of the issues that cosumer reports raised as being problems with the Pilot seem to have disappeared from my vehicle with the Fortera tires. Id almost be willing to put my Pilot up against a Lexus assuming I could have Fortera tires and the Lexus ran Integrity tires. The difference in the cars is almost that close with improved tires being a difference maker. Ride, Noise, Quietness, Handling, Braking, have all improved on my Pilot with Fortera tires and it just makes the thing beautiful.
Just one mans opinion.
