| new '05 pilot, noise in the back?

Just picked up an '05 Pilot EX-L w/RES. Absolutely love it. Many thanks to this forum.
The only thing I am not happy about is some road noise coming from the back. The noise is like a window not closed tight. I don't think the third row seat window can open, nor the one on the hatchback. And I also double check the back door and made sure it is shut tight.
It is just me or it is a Pilot thing. Should I take it back to the dealer for a check-up?

You shouldn't have this type of noise. Do you have cross bars on the roof rack? If you do, they may be installed backwards. Also check to make sure the back spoiler is flush with the roof line.
The other thing is to have someone drive while you sit in the back and pull on the rear doors to make sure the weatherstrippig is okay. In my experience the dealers will always say they cannot duplicate the problem.

Your bet is right on the money. Well, get this. It is "not" the weatherstripping problem, as there was NO weather seal installed. Around the rim is unfinished metal track. Hard to believe this is coming from Honda.
Took it back to the dealer. On one look, the service manager goes, "Oops, how did they miss that?" I will have to wait for a few days before the ordered seal arrives.

Wow, I can't believe Honda let that through Quatlity Control. Must have been made on a Friday before a long weekend, at 5:30 p.m.
I wonder if the part was needed by the dealer to put it on another Pilot that needed a repair.
Glad you nailed it. I know how noises just would drive me crazy.
