| Try using a quality wax or polish and rub it in and try to buff that away... see if that works. |

| Try using a clay bar w/ detailing spray as lubricant to remove it. Then, use a quality carnauba wax to polish it. |

| will this also work on black trim? (which sorta looks and feels like the pilot door handles). |

For the price of a 7 Series, take it to a PROFESSIONAL Detail Shop.
Especially if it a dark color! |

i took it to a professional car wash to get it removed. they were gonna charge $250 and needed to keep it for a week. to tell u the truth, $250 is a lil too much for a very lil spot on the car and i really do not trust any place in jersey city with a new 760Li. i will try the clay bar but i would appreciate it if there are any other methods.
the 760, like my pilot, is silver
all of my dads and my cars are light colors(cept for the new Mustang GT which is black):)
will the clay bar also work on trim?
thanks |

You can try some WD40 (wash and re-wax afterward) but the claybar will remove the offending paint (wash and re-wax); hopefully there won't be any scratches under there. If so, you can either polish yourself or just wait til he gets it detailed and the detailer will take care of it.
If you can post a pic it would be helpful. $250 sounds absurd based on what you've said. |

What N_Jay said. Just do the clay bar thing if you are going to do it yourself. A car like that you don't want to mess with the finish. You can also call the BMW Dealer and see who they use for detailing. A good shop will probably charge $250.00 but they will do it in one day or less, and not have to keep it for the week. Look around and see what other cars they are working on. A good sign is a busy shop.
The one I went to up here, had all kind of dealers were bringing cars in to be "prepped" before delivery.
Don't try to scrub it out, because you will wreck the clear coat. |

| Might want to tell your old man to invest in something like this to prevent any further damage: |

i used the Mothers California Gold Clay Bar kit i got at pep boys for $15 and tried it. It actually took the paint off without damaging the car at all. I just saved myself $235 and it only took me about 15 mins. The kit came with a clay bar, Showtime instant detailer (used it as lubricant), and a bottle of carnauba wax.
thank u guys a lot
now all i need to do now is protect the 760 from my dad LOL:D |

Bug and Tar remover worked on my wife's old van back when she did this same. On the other hand, I needed to repaint the side of the Garage. :D
Just remember to wash and wax any area that you use the bug and tar remover on.
