Is this time of year @ Mammoth considered peak season, if so what's the average waiting in line time for the lift?
Maybe someday I can snowboard down the slopes of Mammoth & find out for myself.

| borg - I've been skiing @ Mammoth for the past 28 yrs. & I've seen the changes in terms of crowds. The last couple of years, it's getting worst if you ski/snowboard on the weekends/holidays especially if you stay mostly at the bottom half of the mountain. During weekdays, the lift lines are not bad. My family usually stay from middle half to the top of the mountain most of the time to avoid the long lift lines. |

| While we were there, Mammoth received ~4 - 6 ft. of new snow! On the way home, it usually take us 4 hrs from Mammoth Lakes junction to LA but due to bad weather, it took us ~6 hrs.:mad: |

| Alright Johnny! Nice pics and glad the trip was a safe one. You gotta love L.A. You can take a short walk on the beach on a sunny day early in the morning and be hitting the slopes later that day. |

| In the late '80, my brother and I went scuba diving near Catalina Island early in the morning and afterwards went to Snow Summit in Big Bear for night skiing. |

| I guess winter skiing/snowboarding is upon us. I just got an e-mail from Mammoth Mountain ski Resort that they are open for business 2 days ahead of schedule. I'll probably install my ski/snowboard rack next week to get ready for the winter activities.;) |
