Ferrari and Minardi are the only teams running their last year's car with the new 2005 regulation changes. Ferrari will race their 2005 car in the 5th race at Barcelona, Spain.
I hope the Honda team does better in the final qualification on Sunday.
Cheers. :7:
Stay tuned race fans for the Sunday final qualification and the first race of the new season after that. |

A disappointing start to the season for BAR Honda, hopefully they do better in the next few races. With JB starting in 8th place I thought he might move up to top five, maybe next time.
Surprise of the race was the 2 Red Bull cars finishing in point positions, what a turnaround from last years Jag team.
What was not a surprise to me was Team Renault, they always had fast cars......with Ferrari running last years cars, I thought Renault might have a slight advantage at start of the season & it showed in the first race.
It's also great to see Villeneuve back in the game, I'd like to see him get some points but hopefully not at the expense of either JB or Sato. |

It's kind of sad to see the BAR-Honda team failed to compete with the auto manufacturers backed teams. Toyota aren't so hot either, they even manage to beat Honda a little. With the rules loophole that a team could pit before the race is over would allow BAR-Honda to install a new engines for the next Malaysian Grand Prix. This would be an advantage for Honda because of the hotter weather in Malaysia and the rest of the teams had to use their engines for the mandatory second time in a race. I hope they fix their problems and they need to greatly improve big time.
Renault's good performance didn't really surprise me because I was monitoring all the teams winter testing. Renault had the fastest times during the winter testing, next were McLaren-Mercedes, Williams-BMW and even Red Bull Racing were fast also. Toyota were fast but it could not last long in the race and even in winter testing. Ferrari was only average during the winter testing but they surprised me with a second place win for a modified 2004 car. I thought McLaren-Mercedes would be strong this first race but they were slightly off pace. Kimi went off road a little and damaged something in the bottom of his car.
Red Bull Team did a great job for their first race. The other independent teams didn't do so well. As for the other independent teams, Sauber were fast during winter testing but it surprised me during the race that both drivers didn't show good performance specially near the end of the race. They were even beaten by their actual rival team Toyota.
Jacques Villeneuve big trouble started at the beggining of the race, he was forced to lose position by another driver Nick Heidfeld of Williams-BMW. After that he kept getting slower and finished 12th. Team member Filipe Massa only got 10th place. Sauber is dealing with BMW to be their next engine supplier but the team needs support from a major car manufacturer to be competitive.
In the tire wars, Bridgestone is not out yet. They showed that they could still compete with Michelin, they got 2nd place with Barrichello's Ferrari.
The next race would be interesting in two weeks from now in Malaysia on March 20th. |

I was surprised as well, based on last seasons performance of BAR that they were so far out of the running.
The odd thing about Sauber is that they are using the 2005 spec Ferrari engines, where Ferrari were using the 2004 spec modified.
Red Bull was the biggest surprise. They are using an updated Jaguar R5 chassis, which was a very poor performer last year, and an updated Cosworth engine that Jordan used last year, which was basically a poor performer last year as well. And despite the rules changes, they were able to increase the RPMs and gain HP while trying to build in the 2 race weekend reliability.
With all the money that Toyota and Honda are spending, I would have expected them to be higher in the final results.
The nice thing is that there was only one mechanical retirement, Albers with a failed gearbox. The other 2 retirements, Heidfeld and Schumacher, IMHO was Schumacher's fault. To top it off, eventhough Heidfeld was out from damage, Schumacher's car could have finished the race. Ferrari exploited that loophole, so they could put a new engine in his car.
All in all, it was a refreshing change from the all Ferrari, all the time spectacle of last season.
As far as the tires go, Bridgestone will probably not be able to keep up with Michelin, throughout the season, due to their exclusive testing agreement with Ferrari. Michelin gets nearly 5 times the performance data that Bridgestone gets, despite Ferrari breaking the gentlemen's agreement not to conduct testing during race weekends, or previously agreed upon non-testing periods. |

Don't count out Ferrari and Bridgestone, I'm surprised Barrichello ended up 2nd place. They are still a strong team maybe slightly weaker than last year, the big unknown is when they get their new 2005 race car, will it be slower, same or faster than their '04 car.

Just read this morning that Red Bull is negotiating to have Honda supply their engines to the team for the 2006 season. Word from the Honda guys working with BAR is that they'd prefer not to have to split their efforts with other teams with a potential loss of focus.
Comments from the Honda home office is that 'in the interest of the sport' they're always happy to spread the Honda cheer around to others. |

That must be why they left ChampCar, to prepare the oval-racing NASCAR folks for the Nextel Cup Accord via the IRL. |

Wow, we're only one race in and the Silly Season has begun! ;) Wouldn't it be fun if ChampCar went to 2.4l n/a engines too and could share engines with F1? |

Too bad for the Honda team but there were a lot of retirements, a total of seven cars.
Early on about the same time the Hondas failed, P. Friesacher of Minardi spun and went out also. Then halfway during the race J. Villeneuve of Sauber spun and went out of the race. M. Webber's Williams crahed with G. Fisichella's Renault, both were out of it. Near the end of the race the Ferrari of R. Barrichello went in the pits due to lack of grip because of very badly worn tires.
Here are the unofficial Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix race results:
1 F. Alonso - Renault
2 J. Trulli - Toyota
3 N. Heidfeld - Williams-BMW
4 J. P. Montoya - McLaren-Mercedes
5 R. Schumacher - Toyota
6 D. Coulthard - Red Bull Racing
7 M. Schumacher - Ferrari
8 C. Klein - Red Bull Racing
The rest of the cars finished without points:
9 K. Raikkonen - McLaren-Mercedes
10 F. Massa - Sauber-Petronas
11 N. Karthikeyan - Jordan-Toyota
12 T. Monteiro - Jordan-Toyota
13 C. Albers - Minardi-Cosworth
It's the first podium for Toyota and a very strong race from the winner Fernando Alonso and Renault. Another disappointing race for the Ferrari team, maybe they will rush the new F2005 car now and use it ahead of schedule. The race stewards will investigate the crash of Webber and Fisichella.

Button fires angry salvo at BAR
Jenson Button heavily criticised his BAR-Honda team after both cars retired from the Malaysian Grand Prix with engine failure after just three laps.
"Compared to last year, we have made a huge step back in every area it looks like at the moment," said Button, who was third in the championship in 2004.
"It's just not good enough because we're quick - that's the annoying thing. It's very disappointing.
"It's got to change, but I don't think it's going to change in a hurry."
Button, who wanted to switch to Williams for this season but was forced to stay at BAR after losing a legal dispute, was especially critical of engine partner Honda, the team's co-owner.
"Engineering an engine to last three laps is not difficult," he said. "It's (about) the whole race."
The failures were especially embarrassing for Honda, because BAR had decided to deliberately retire both cars at the end of the Australian Grand Prix so they could fit fresh engines for Malaysia.
BAR technical director Geoff Willis said: "This was a bitterly disappointing end to our race weekend, particularly since Jenson got such a good start and was easily making places in the early laps.
"The car was handling well and we were confident that our race pace and strategy would bring very good results."

The plus laps means that the leader car lapped you. For example Jenson Button of BAR-Honda shows +10 laps which means that he probably and in this case retired 10 laps before the end of the race due to a mechanical problem. |

| How about Honda's ultra-fast shifting transmission? That's kinda cool. I like how they had to dumb-it-down because it was so seamless the other teams complained that it was virtually a CVT. Good times! Now if they could just make the motors faster and reliable...and do something about the brake bias! Those front wheels were blacker than my Pilot's! Cheers. |

Good day for Honda, finishing 3rd & 5th.....but the story was Schu's superb driving & his teams strategy that enabled them to go from 13th to finish 2nd. Alonso wins his 3rd race in a row & showed steely determination to hang on for the win with Schu charging fast & trying all he could to overtake. Great finish.:roadtrip: :roadtrip:
Just finished watching it live, too early for any update to use link to either F1 or BAR Honda sites. |

First of all congrats to the BAR-Honda team's 3rd and 5th place finish.
My favorite driver Jacques Villeneuve of Sauber-Petronas did well and snapped out of his poor performance in the last three races.
Overall it was a great very close race between Renault's Fernando Alonso and Ferrari's Champ Michael Schumacher. Jenson Button's finish was not in the same pace as the first and second place, he was about 10 secs. behind the leaders.

BAR Honda handed 2 race ban. JB & Sato DQ'd.......BAR is appealing decision.
I'm afraid this may spell the end for BAR Honda's bid for a successful 05 season.:( |

BAR-Honda didn't went through with their appeal so they are out for the two races. At the Spanish GP at Barcelona, Ferrari, Sauber and Minardi had a bad day. Champion Michael Schumacher of Ferrari, both Sauber race cars and both Minardi cars retired. Michael's Ferrari teammate didn't score any points which finished 9th. I just got back from Catalunya last nite. It was interesting to see some of the BAR team wandering around town in the evening with a dazed look and time on their hands.
Much discussion about the whole sordid affair. Apparently Mike Mosely wanted them disqualified for the entire season. Thankfully that hasn't happened. The normally honorable Japanese are keeping very quiet with most of the communications coming from BAR Brits.
Kimi Raikonnen was awesome and simply ran away from the field. It sure was interesting to see the stands filled with the light blue colors of Renault and Fernando Alonso. Quite a departure from the normal red horde of Ferrari supporters.
The Spanish sure have a strange sense of time management. Restaurants didn't start to fill up until after 10. We were eating the evening meal close to midnite and it was odd seeing the streets filled with normal people at 3 a.m. |

That's normal for Spain. They usually take part of the afternoon off, so they work later and eat later. For those who don't work so late (or tourists), you hit the tapas bars for lite food and drink. And everybody smokes.

The BAR-Honda team could not compete in this race because of their two race penalty for having an underweight cars. There were three other teams that were in the same condition as BAR-Honda but they had to revise their setup after the Honda team was caught. The F1 circus now moves to Nurburgring in Germany for next week's European Grand Prix when the BAR Honda team will make its return to the championship. |

The first race back of the BAR-Honda team was about average finishing in the mid field. McLaren's Kimi was leading most of the race but had a blown right front tire one lap before the end of the race. Their team will look into the cause of the car's failure whether it was the tire or the suspension that let go.
Nick Heidfeld of the Williams-BMW team got the pole position and challenged Renault and McLaren. Nick's partner Mark Webber had a bad accident in the first few laps among a few cars and the ones involved had to replace their nose and front wings.
The Ferrari team are improving from their previous races and got 3rd podium and 5th places.
Alonso extended his huge lead in the drivers' championship and join us again in two weeks to see if his challengers could fight back at the Canadian Grand Prix, Gilles Villeneuve Circuit, Montreal.

It was a disaster for the Honda team and a lot of other teams at the Canadian Grand Prix race, Sunday, June 12th. Jenson Button hit the wall with only about a third of the race remaining. Teammate Takuma Sato went out with a transmission problem early and near the end of the race came back into the race to get a better qualification position for the next race. Takuma did not finish, he's the only driver that went out twice during the race, what bad luck.
Other teams and also Renault with both cars out also, didn't do well. Only eleven cars finished the race.
JP Montoya of the McLaren-Mercedes was in the lead when Jenson Button crashed, Montoya pitted which almost every team did. When he got out of the pit, he was black flagged for not following the red light condition when the pace car was out in the track.
In summary, McLaren-Mercedes team is catching up with Renault. The Ferrari team did well this time and the champ Michael was only about a second behind the winner at the finish line. The Honda team had a nice qualifying when Jenson got the pole position. Jenson admitted later after the race that the wall incident was his own fault.
Hoping that the Honda team gets better for next week's 9th race of the season at the U.S. Grand Prix at Indy.

What's happening to Formula One? Fans boo Michael Shumacher to victory because only six of the cars raced (three teams), the rest of the teams elected not to race as a protest to the FIA after Michelin the tire supplier for the seven teams, advised against using its tire due to safety concerns.

The suggestion by the FIA to the Michelin teams to slow down in turn 13 was ridiculous. Once the drivers get into a race, their racing mindset would take over and they would start pushing the limits in that turn.
In the news article on the F1 web site about the Michelin-shod teams being summoned on June 29th, it says:
Rather than boycott the race the Michelin teams should have agreed to run at reduced speed in turn 13. The rules would have been kept, they would have earned Championship points and the fans would have had a race.
"had a race"?!? Only if you count the 14 cars that would have been more laps down than the two Minardis because they had to slow down in turn 13. Or maybe they were counting on the cars slowing in turn 13 taking out some of the Bridgestone-shod cars as they tried to pass?
I find it hard to believe that Michelin couldn't supply tires that could take the loads from turn 13; they've been there 6 times already. It would have been interesting to be in the Michelin boardroom today! They have taken a pretty bad hit because of this debacle. |

I disagree. Racers understand more than anyone what their car can and can't do. If they fear they have a tire problem they can slow down just as they do if they have a brake/engine/aero/suspension/etc. problem. During a race their cars change, the weight goes down, tires either get better then start to fade as do brakes and the driver constantly compensates for these changes. If the individual drivers wanted to race they should have been allowed to do so and just slow down where they believe they may have an issue just as so many others have done and will continue to do in every race run anywhere on earth. But the team managers took the gamble that by sticking together and pulling out the race would be restarted with the chicane or something else. Too bad for them.
I think the FIA absolutely did the right thing. Why penalize the whole field for one part supplier's problem? Had this been a Bridgestone issue, do you think the other teams would have agreed to a chicane just to 'help' Ferrari and the other two teams? I guarantee they would not. What would happen if teams were allowed to pull out of a race any time they aren't as fast as the other teams? Since that applies to basically every race, that would make for a pretty shoddy series. In hindsight, they should have just slowed down on that one turn, carry less fuel, have ane extra pit stop, closely monitor tire wear and hope the faster cars have some other technical issue. But they chose solidarity.
If Alonso or Raikkonen lose this championship by one point, I bet they'll wish they had raced at Indy and collected the wasted points for 7th and 8th that no one received. And if they lose to Schumi...well that'd be amazing for many reasons.
Just my thoughts. Cheers. |

But it's a racer's nature to take their car right to the edge of what it can do. When they miscalculate, they crash. Maybe a suggestion to slow down in turn 13 would work when no other cars are around, but when a car is jockeying for position with another and approaching that turn, the urge to take it faster than their competitor "just this once" would be too great (I would think). And since not every car running Michelins crashed in practice, maybe some drivers would think they could get away with higher speeds in that turn "some of the time". Besides, a brake/engine/aero/suspension problem would manifest itself every lap. As I understand it, the tires would handle fine- until they failed.
NASCAR (and many other series) has a mandatory pit road speed limit. But drivers still routinely are penalized for speeding. The urge to go just a little faster to get ahead of a competitor is just too great. (Of course, that could also describe a typical rush hour commute:3: ) |

I find it difficult to get into F1 racing. I don't know if it is because we don't see it often or because it is more of an international thing than a US thing. Kind of like international soccer. I root for the US team at world cup but otherwise pay little attention to it.
Nascar is on every weekend it seems, and usually somewhere nearby, with a driver you've heard of. I did watch the Indy 500 because of Danica Patrick, but I don't think I've seen another open wheel race in years... |

Which happens at virtually every race for a variety of reasons.

Why? These guys know how to get the most out of their cars whether or not they're running at 100% so I don't see why they would just blindly ignore the advice of their parts suppliers, engineers, etc. and drive recklessly. They get black flagged for reckless behaviour. Like Montoya in Canada.
quote: ...maybe some drivers would think they could get away with higher speeds in that turn "some of the time".
So you don't pass on the outside of that one turn. Instead pass at the 3/4 mile long straight that follows it. Safety problem solved.

If these urges were so uncontrolable, these guys would all be dead by now. |

Every F1 practice, qualifying and race is broadcast in the US, usually on Speed Channel. I find it difficult to get into NASCAR. Maybe because it's like the Starbucks of the racing world: popular and omnipresent. The only time I can watch that type of racing is if it's a support race at something I'm attending. And even then I fall asleep.

I too watched the Danica 500 this year but just to see at what point supergirl would screw up. No offense, but she's not that great. Did she ever even win a Toyota Atlantics race? She was good for the series because she was briefly interesting to the general media, but to me she's just an oval track racer that happens to look ok in a bikini. Not exactly what I require in a race driver. |

I was there all week-end. I know I don't speak for everyone else who was, but I had a great time. Friday and Saturday were fine days. We were buying the morning newspaper each day and understood that there was a tire problem. Michelin was reportedly air freighting in a replacement set of tires that might make it there just in time for the race. The newspaper pointed out that this was against the rules and wondered what the FIA would do to maintain the integrity of the sport.
History now tells us that the FIA held their ground which was the right thing to do but unfortunate in its consequences. Michelin, worried about litigation happy America, held their ground as well. I find it amazing that Michelin was able to get everyone to agree to boycott. There were certainly Michelin teams that were not exhibiting the problem who wanted to race.
What was disappointing was that the social club of gazillionaires who control F1 these days could not arrive at a compromise that would allow the show to go on.
My take was that they should have put the chicane in, made it a non-points race for all the Michelin teams and let the Bridgestone guys occupy the first 6 spots on the grid. Ferrari would have got the win and the points they rightfully deserved. Some of the Michelin guys could have still salvaged bragging rights by driving through the pack and overtaking whatever Bridgestone cars that they could.
I've been there for each of the 6 USGP's so far. Will I return next year? You bet. At least I'll always remember this one as the Grand Prix that wasn't. |

I'm not criticizing F1, I'm just saying I've never found it appealing. The same can be said for a lot of sports I haven's taken an interest in(rugby, water polo, cricket, x-games, etc.)
I don't even know what a Toyota Atlantics race is, let alone who won . I think many people are critical of "supergirl" and want her to screw up, but I think if you qualify, compete and finish any Indy 500, you may not be great, but you're better than a lot of wanna be's... |

Truly a black day for F1, it may be too severe for it to recover from.
I suspect that the bigger reason for the incident is greed.......for power, for money!
It wouldn't surprise me a bit if their was a break out series comprised of the seven teams that didn't race at INDY in the very near future, which would leave F1 with a Ferrari team & two lesser teams.
I hope that they can find a resolution somehow, I believe that F1 will not survive if their was a break out league & the break out league would need a marquee team like Ferrari to succeed. |

I hope F1 and teams look to CART as an example of what not to do. Their split several years ago turned it from a top tier series into a second rate one. While it was not a death blow, I don't think they ever recovered. |

Fernando Alonso performed strongly with his fifth win of the season in a dominant way at Renault's home circuit. The Spaniard led from start to finish and despite a masterful strategy from McLaren, Kimi Raikkonen had to settle for second place. Michael Schumacher collected the final podium position for Ferrari.
Jenson Button of BAR-Honda team finished fourth place. :7:

First podium (legal) for Honda and Jenson Button. Button set up Michael Schumacher and out-braked the German down the inside of the hairpin, stealing second place on lap 45. In summary, after the first lap fiascoes it turned out to be a slow-burn race which came alive near the finish. Fernando Alonso of the Renault team is still the current leader. There are only seven more races to go in this season. The next race will be next week in Budapest Hungary.
Note: I was on vacation in Northern California during the British GP, here is the result even if it's very late sorry.

The BAR-Honda team had a horrible qualifying, Jenson Button started at 13th and Takuma Sato was disqualified by blocking another car and had to start from last place. In spite of the bad starting positions Jenson beat Jarno Truli of Toyota to finish 5th place and Takuma finished 9th, shy of the one last point awarded to the 8th place.
World champ Michael Schumacher of Ferrari team had a very bad luck and had two separate crashes, first in the start of the race with Felipe Massa of Sauber team and later on in the race with Mark Webber of Williams-BMW.
The worst team having a very bad luck was Williams-BMW which suffered several right rear tire punctures. Their tire problem was caused by rubbing of the sidewall of the tire with the side of the rear spoiler.
Kimi Räikkönen of team McLaren-Mercedes raced from pole to finish and was unstoppable and was not even challenged by team Renault. His team mate Juan Pablo Montoya was running 2nd most of the race skidded off the race track two laps before the finish and Fernando took advantage of it and finished 2nd. The chase for the world championship will be between Kimi and Fernando with five exciting races left to go in the season.
The new track in Istanbul, Turkey were well liked by the drivers. The main improvement I could mention is the run off of the turns are paved instead of the traditional gravel, this makes it more safer and less damage to the cars.
The next race will be in Monza, Italy on September 4th.

Sweet! Nice to see some Pilot owners on here are also Honda F1 fans:2:
I'm looking forward to this weekend in Monza. JB almost won last year, maybe he can pull out something special for Honda this time around if the McLarens run into some bad luck! :4: |

The BAR-Honda team Jenson Button had a good qualification of P4 and teammate Takuma Sato got P5 but this was due to low fuel load. Takuma had pit trouble when he didn't get enough fuel and had to come back and add more fuel, he never made up the time he lost. By the finish Jenson got the last point 8th place and Takuma was 16th.
Juan Pablo Montoya won the Italian Grand Prix despite a rear tyre problem. A troubled afternoon of various dramas meant Kimi Raikkonen could finish no better than fourth. Kimi had to start 10 places back even though he got P1 in qualification because of a new engine change penalty.
Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella of the Renault team kept the pressure on Juan Pablo but pretty much stayed behind him. The Ferrari team had a terrible race and didn't even get any points. For the third time in Formula One history all the starters made it to the finish.
Fernando Alonso closes in on the championship title and could possibly lock it in by the next race in Spa, Belgium next week September 11th.

I usually love Monza, but today's race was fairly boring. It's a sad state of affairs when the most exciting racing in F1 is when Webber pulled out right in front of Taku during their respective pitstops and "raced" their way out side by side.
Anyway, Kimi's bad luck is unbelievable. If it weren't for all the mechancial gremlins this year, he'd have the WDC by now. |

Yes I agree and so does 90% of F1 fans that wants more passing.
The FIA will have a huge task ahead of them to make the race tracks wider and more safer, specially the older tracks.
It's been also bad luck for BAR-Honda this year but we shall see what happens next year when everyone switch to V8s. |

A couple of things that caught my attention during the Italian GP telecast.
Since Barichello signed on with BAR for next year, Taku is on the outside looking in. Too bad, he's been a good soldier for BAR, compared to JB who wanted out & actually signed on with Williams but now says he'll stay with BAR since BMW will be severing their partnership with Williams next year.
The switch to V8 next year was news to me.....I really need to keep in tune with new developments. I wonder if this will make the sport any better.....or worse?
I never imagined Schu to be eliminated from the Driver's championship at this stage of the game, Ferrari has had a miserable season & will have to work that much harder to regain top form next year. |

The latest Barrichello rumors now circulating is that BAR-Honda got him and he's to be traded with Williams in exchange for Jenson.
I'm not sure if the team is going to keep Takuma, it depends how good is his connection with Honda. Remember that Villeneuve got kicked out of the team to be replaced by him, but that was caused by their former management.
FIA wants to slow down the race cars for safety that's why they all agreed to use V8s next year.
This year's championship will be between Fernando and Kimi. There's still hope for Kimi but it's a long shot in my opinion. |

Kimi Räikkönen kept his head in tricky conditions at Spa Francorchamps for his second Belgian win in two years. But it was a bittersweet win as Fernando Alonso moved ahead to second place after Juan Pablo Montoya was again hit from behind by a backmarker car in the final stages of the race just like in Turkey. Jenson Button drove strongly to carve his way up to third, thanks to Juan Pablo's accident.
The order remained the same, until lap ten when Giancarlo Fisichella lost control of his car in the legendary Eau Rouge corner and ended his race with a crash in the tire barrier. The safety car went out so race marshals could remove the wrecked Renault.
Takuma Sato hit the back of Michael Schumacher's Ferrari on the run down to La Source and both were out of the race. Schumacher walked over to the Japanese driver and gesticulated angrily and tapped on Takuma's helmet.
McLaren were one-two at this point of the race, but Montoya was hit from behind for the second time in three races when Williams-BMW driver Antonio Pizzonia bumped the rear corner of the Colombian's McLaren and both were out of it. The officials are going to investigate this incident.
Kimi Räikkönen kept his cool to cruise to victory almost half a minute ahead of Fernando Alonso.
Jenson Button fought his way up to third place with Mark Webber prospering from a switch to dry tires to finish fourth.
Rubens Barrichello claimed fifth ahead of a great drive from Jacques Villeneuve to finish sixth.
Ralf Schumacher recovered from his earlier tire change mistake to finish seventh ahead of a valiant drive from Tiago Monteiro - the only driver to have finished every single race this season - to claim another point for Jordan-Toyota.
Latest News:
Red Bull announced earlier on Saturday that they would acquire 100 per cent of the shares in the Minardi team by no later than November 1, 2005.
The next race will be at Sao Paulo Brazil two weeks from now on September 25th.

| I did not pay much attention to thr first part of the season, so what happened to Ferrari? Did the FIA impose some kind of restictions on the team to slow them down or are their cars for this season just not that fast?:8: |

Spa was an awesome race! Did anyone catch the save by JV? WOW  Like father, like son, eh?
Pretty nice JB picked up a podium. We should thank Pizzonia, haha.
tallgood, without getting into too much detail with regards to new rules and regulations, Ferrari have been off the pace all season. Dominance in F1 is often cyclical. Ferrari's dominated the past 5 years much like back in the mid 80's through early 90's, Williams-Honda, then McLaren-Honda dominated. There's no way Ferrari would have stayed at the top. This year's been one of the best years in recent memory for me. Very exciting developments on and off the track. I definitely don't like the dumbing down of the rules. F1 is the absolute pinnacle of racing and motorsport technology and it should remain that way.
Anyway, GO KIMI!!! Chances are getting slimmer, but I still want him to win WDC! |

| I am a big fun of M. Schumacher he seems to have lost his edge a little and Villeneuve just had one great season since joining F1 from the INDY program |

Their cars have not performed well, and even MS can't seem to get them to work. |

| Just read where Jenson Button will pay the Williams F1 team an undisclosed agreed upon amount of money to stay with BAR and void the Williams retainer on his services for 2006. BAR will undoubtedly reimburse him. So its official....Jenson and Rubens at BAR-Honda for 2006. |
