This is not really a comparison post. We are looking to replace my wife's audi A4 with a more kid friendly vehicle. I want super reliable so I started looking at used Toyotas. I first drove a 2000 RX300. It was quiet and smooth and that is all I liked about it. the interior was incredibly cheap looking and it has absolutely now power off the line. The steering was very vague and heavy. I think my Pilot is worlds above the 300.
I then drove a 2004 RX330. I am a pretty unemotional person but that vehicle is amazing. The interior, with it's real wood and brushed aluminum looking stuff, is very elegant. The thing is super quiet and there is no road vibration at all. Of course it has all kind of bells and whistles the Pilot does not but what would you expect for a $36,000 used vehicle. |

...I'd expect it to sit on the lot for a while! (A LONG while) :19:
Anyone spending $35K+ for a used vehicle is on crack, unless it's a Maybach or something. |

| I have to disagree on that. If I car is $44,000 new and it is selling for $36,000 with only 20,000 miles on it, why wouldn't you buy it for $36,000? I have to be honest. If i had test driven one of these before I bought my $35,000 Honda Pilot, I think I would the proud owner of a Lexus right now. It doesn't have the space of the Honda which was one reason I got a Pilot, but it has a bunch of stuff that makes you feel all warm inside. |

Apparently you have too much disposable income :)
But seriously, I understand your point - it's just a matter of opinion. If I'm buying used, I'm doing so to avoid spending a lot of money. To me $30K+ is in the upscale new car zone. |

| Hey Jay! Can you say..... '06 RX 400H? Isn't it about time? 7 months and counting. The RX 330 is getting old, time to replace her. |

One of the local dealers has had 17 sitting on the lot for a couple of weeks now. I'm holding out for integrated XM with XM NAV Traffic.:4: |

| Gee, here in No. CA, there are none to be had! Waiting lists are the norm. I've heard the lists are at least 4-6 months. Maybe you should buy a few and bring them out here to resell 'em. I hear they are getting $4-6K over MSRP. Go figure, surplus on the East Coast, shortage on the West Coast. Some guy on Craig's List was trying to sell his waiting list spot for $900. As the weeks passed, it dropped to at least $700. Maybe it's even less now that "his" car is getting close. I hate those guys. I guess anything for a buck. BTW, how much are RX 400H's going for out where you are? |

I haven't tested it personally, but from what I'm seeing at ClubLexus.com and from dealer inventories, it appears you can get one for $1500-2000 off MSRP. |
