Have any of you who also own CRV's replaced the OEM tires with a larger size on the factory wheel?
OEM = 205/70-15
I've seen 225's on a CRV, but that might look a little to big. I'm wondering if a 215/70-15 would work out nicely.

| I think to go plus 1, you have to drop your side walls a little. Maybe 215-65/15? |

Only drawback is you will have a shorter tire by about 1.1% and your speedometer will read faster than you are actually going. Since speedometers already read fast from the factory, you are making it worse. :(
I have 225/70/15's on my 2001, and they look great. :cool: Only drawback is that my acceleration and mileage do suffer a little. The loss of acceleration might not be as noticeable with your 2.4L engine though.
215/70/15 will give you a wider tire and a 2.1% larger diameter versus 4.2% for my tires. This will also make your speedo a little more accurate.
A friend of mine had an older Toyota 4x4 PU with 33"s on it, and his speedometer read like 40mph instead of like 60 - 65mph while driving on the interstate. :eek:
Let us know what you choose. :) |
