I talked to Tim about the 2006 taillights too, and he agreed to set up a group buy for these. There isn't a limit on the number of orders for this part, and there should be plenty of them on hand. I guess HOA stocks more of these due to accident damage.
While there isn't a limit on the number of these, we will put a time limit on the group buy for October 24th.
He agreed to sell these for $95.00 for each side, or $190.00 total!
Here is a picture of them on RcRaider's ride, as he has already installed them. It is a very easy install, and they are an direct replacement. The only difference is the the '06 light housing lip is slightly different on the inside, and does not cover a bolt for the bumper. This is hidden, however, when the tailgate is closed, and isn't really noticeable when it is open anyway. See RcRaider's thread for pics:

| Also on the 2006 housings, there are the two round lenses as well as the long vertical lens. What way are they uesed when lit or when using turn signals? |

The 2006 lenses look sweet on silver pilots but any pics or opinions on how they would look on a dark color like sage or black? I wonder if the TYC aftermarket ones which are a smoke color would look better on a dark color.

I agree. I'm holding off a few days befofe putting my order in on the group buy. I have an 05 Steel Blue and am wondering which would look better--the black or the clear. kemosabe has installed the Euro Tails on his pilot. You an see his DIY install HERE

| Has anyone recieved their shipment yet or notification there of? I got an email from Honda Acura World this evening with a FedEx tracking number. I ordered both the taillights, and the conversation mirror yesterday. I don't know which is in this shipment. It says the weight is 1.2 lbs, BUT in the memo section of the shipment confirmation email, it says "PILOT CONVERSATION SHIP 10/31/2005" I don't think the taillights can weigh only 1.2 lbs :confused: ..hmm I might call to find out. |

| I installed the TYC taillights over a year ago and actually prefer them over the '06's. It's just a matter of perference, but the TYC's don't have quite as much chrome inside and look a little less "ricer" to me. Also, they weren't too expensive when I bought them. The upside to the '06 lights are they are OEM and easily replaced. |

Well...I'm bummed. I got my new taillights today, and one of them is broken. :1pat:
It looks like the lens for the turn signal popped out during shipping. I tried to get it back in place, but there is no way that I can tell to open up the taillight assembly. It looks like a sealed unit. I'll give Tim a call on Monday to replace it.
I thought about just putting one on... :bonk: |

Hmmm,
Two shipments and two detached lenses. Doesn't bode well. If there is a manufacturing problem, then are we looking at the lenses falling off due to the jarring from simply driving the truck around? |

I think due to mass production and poor quality control. These taillight is not properly inspected. The lenses are snapped on to the reflector assembly and then the clear outside plexi-glass cover assembly are glued together. Honda should have been careful and should adhere the two red lenses to the reflector assembly, not just snapped on..
Once the manufacturer done the assembly, packed, then ship to dealer. Dealer sent to consumer... that's the time the lenses got jarred and then the lens popped out...:confused: :3: :confused: |

Kinda strange though. This is a part supplier for Honda and the supplier is showing poor QC. What about the ones that are installed on the 2006 models? When will the lenses start popping off?
This might end up being a real headache for Tim and, clearly, he's not the party at fault, here. |

I wish I could see them on a Redrock Pilot. I hate the OEM tailights (the two reds are a mismatch). I was considering the 06 tail lights, but I can't justify $200. $130 for the TYCs is a little hard to swallow in and of itself. |

I have an 04 and the same thing happened - got a replacement one under warranty because they are sealed.
I guess they should have glued them too....... |
