NAV Joystick; Can it be replaced? - Click HERE for Original Thread
Edog
I installed a Superior dash kit in my Pilot a couple of weeks ago, and love it. However, I just went to use my NAV today, and when I tried to use the joystick, it wouldn't work. The reason...the hole for the joystick in the dash kit is a little too small, and since the dash kit is about 1-1.5 mm thick, it blocks the joystick from being depressed all of the way, in all directions.

Is there anyway to remove the joystick, so that I can shave a little bit off of the bottom? Or can I remove in order to replace it with something longer?

I tried giving it a little twist, but didn't use too much force, as I didn't want to end up with a broken one.

It looks as if you can just pull the little knob straight off. At any rate, the part number for the joystick (#6 in the picture below) is 39813-S0X-A01 should you damage yours in the process.

Good luck!

Thanks RAdams! I don't know why I didn't think of looking at the parts diagram. :bonk:

The joystick comes straight out. I used a putty knife underneath the lip to pull it straight back. It came right off. I then took my dremmel to shave about 1mm off of the base of the upper portion, and stuck it back on. It works like a charm!
