After 196-thousand trouble free miles on my wife's 1988 Accord LXI... she's starting to think it's time to replace her vehicle (I've been pushing for a couple of years).
At first she didn't like the Element at all... and now she's ga-ga about it.
Anyone here own one and what kind of review can you give me.
Thanks.
PS: If anyone in the Denver area is looking for a SOLID used car --- ours could be on the market real soon. |

The people that I know that own Elements LOVE them... one item they talk about a lot are the after market accessories avail for them. Seems like any kind of adapter or outdoor gadget that has been considered for this car is available for sale somewhere on the net..
I am sure you have seen this link already but just in case http://hondaelement.org/ |

| The two couples I know that own Elements love the ways the doors open up so wide, the indestructible interior materials and all the out door camping stuff you can buy to outfit their Elements with! |

It's too bad that Honda can't transfer some of that indestructible interior knowledge to their other vehicles which are much too easily scratched/destroyed. |

| I know two poeple with Elements, both love them. One is a 2003 5 speed, and one is a 2005 EX. The 5-speed accelerates nicely and is one the vehicles I am considering when the 170K 1997 Civic LX goes bye-bye (which may be never :) ) |

Reading this post made me curious so I went to look over the Element at the Honda site. Wow! we could use some of those accessories.
Skylight shade screen - Let the air in but not the bugs. I would love one of those.
Tailgate seat back - We could use one easily.
Interior Privacy Curtain - No comment. :12: |

Our very own copperpoppy bought one sometime back - but haven't seen any posts from her for quite some time. She seemed real happy with it, as I recall.

I've been thinking about getting an Element when our 1994 Toyota Corolla finally dies. I like the interior room, the lack of carpet, and even the way the rear doors open.
The only thing that bothers me is the gas mileage. I already have one low 20's mpg car (my Pilot), so I am also thinking about a 4cyl Accord. |

| my sisters CRV averages mid 20's in mixed driving. I would expect the Element to be about the same. Also, I have yet to break 20 mpg in my Pilot. Most tanks only net about 17 |

| We did have a member a while back who moved from an Element to a Pilot, as I recall. He commented on a problem with the windshield, and indicated that a number of Element owners had had them crack, allegedly from a poor design that placed a lot of stress on the windshield. That was the only comment I've seen about the Element. |

| When I brought my integra to my dealer for timing belt change. The dealer provide me a loan car. Its a 2003 ELEMENT,EX, AWD. I had it for the entire day and I returned it the following day. I really like the car. It drive like a CRV but its bigger inside. My kids liked it coz of the rear moonroof and the space in the rear passenger are tremendously huge. My wife love it coz of the space. We end up going to many diffenrent places that day. We went to Ikea and bought a workstation unit, that fits our budget. I folded the to rear seats. Then went to home depot and bought some more stuff. The only thing I would suggest to increase the HP and fix the wind noise on the door frame.... :o :o |
