Has anyone been able to find DashMats (or other hight quality brand) for the Pilot yet?
My searching has led nowhere. Here in AZ the sun is brutal on dashboards and a DashMat offers great protections.
Let me know if find one! |

There is a place here Hawaii that customs them for your particular vechicle. Pretty popular around here ... Going price listed was around the $30-40 range ... could be more ... I'll try to dig the advertisement up and get more information ...

Do they have a web site? I would like to see one before I call.
When I search Google, all I come up with is recipes for SPAM. What are you guys eating over there? :o |

Threadhead the DashMat is made here in Arizona. You might be able to find them in the phone book. They used to be on the west side off of McDowell or Thomas a couple years ago. They still might be there.
The Dash Cover from Hawaii is a good product. I saw their covers at the Aloha Swap Meet while I was in Hawaii a few months back.
So now I'm torn. Do I get one from my home, Hawaii. Or, do I get one from my adopted home, Arizona? Or do I stick with the original dash and keep treating it with 303 Aerospace?
I'll take a few months to ponder on it. |

Spam is a staple in Hawaii, just like rice. The people of Hawaii is Hormel's largest Spam customer.
Believe it or not:4: |

They were the first ones I tried. It's not on their web site, so I emailed. Still waiting for a reply. |

Threadhead,
If I drive down Thomas or McDowell, I'll keep a eye out for Dashmat.
You ready for Sunday?
Anybody else in the southwest states wanna meet with us?
Sunday is Pilot Day! :) |

| I finally got one from DashGuard. DashMat also has them but after looking at both in person, the DashGuard brand was much better quality. |

We got one a month or so back from E-Bay. It looks nice and fits very well..comes with velcro strips to ancor it as well.
You can find it here... Dash Mat!
I'll try and post a picture tonight or tomorrow...when I get to see our Pilot again. Darn...maybe should have put Pilot access in a "pre-nup!"

Go to Wal-Mart they sell the DashMat thats made in Tempe, AZ. Their only like $28 bucks for the carpeted kind with lifetime warranty. I have one in my Pilot as well as my 98 Rav4 and it looks as good as it did when new. |

Any idea where I can get a dashmat in Tucson - don't really want to join the rest of you up in the Phx area. ;) I need something which matches our saddle leather (and that doesn't flap around like our last one).
I had a dashmat on our old minivan and used to think it was silly, but it was probably VERY sensible. |

I do not like dash mats guys. At least one time a month our dash on our 96 Avalon was treated with something, and it has never cracked. I just hate the carpet on the dash, so I put more elbow grease into the plastic.
By the way, are the dash mats that you guys are buying allowing for the sensor for the AC? The Pilot has a sensor by the ignition and by the windshield to compensate for heat from direct sunlight:4: |

Try Dash Guard. You call them or oder it online. If you call, they will send you some color samples. They are out of Yuma. This is the one I have and I like. No one has a color that matches the Saddle interior. I know, I've looked all over  |

I agree. I got mine from Dash Guard (see above post for link). Nice people and they sent me an envelope full of color samples. FWIW, the story I heard was that some employees left Dash Guard to form Dash Mat and that Dash Guard was the original.

Yes. There is a cutout for all sensors and vents for the Pilot, at least for the Dash Guard one. I don't know about Dash Mat. |

| I realize that many of you on this thread are from AZ. Are those of you in AZ interested in any Pilot get-togethers in this part of the woods (or desert, in my case)? I noticed that the SW board has been dormant. Shall we wake it up? |

I'm game.
I have two small boys, so something that would interest them would be great. What do you have in mind? |

we have 2 kids under 10 - a boy and a girl - so I agree - perhaps gem or fossil hunting (they're prehistoric-obsessed)...Or whatever?? As we're in Tucson, we're also grass, tree, and water obsessed...

Just throwing out some ideas... Biosphere2, Maderia Canyon, Kartchner Cavern :5:, eat in the 'Skull' in Amado, hit some GeoCaches in S.AZ (kids love it), Kentucky Camp...
We'll be heading your way either this weekend or next. My Mother-in-law lives in Green Valley and we are 'donating' our dishwasher to her. So if you can think of anything to do down your way, we might be able to hook up. |

What is the Skull in Amado? We've been to Biosphere 2, Madeira Canyon (our 1st Pilot excursion! this April).
I'd vote for GeoCaching (but no GPS here - tho I'm drooling over one) or Kentucky camp - heard good things about both! Shall we put the word out to other AZ Piloteers????? How?
BTW - how old are your little darlings? Ours are 5 & 8. |

The skull in Amado is the big cow skull (I'd guess 60ft. high) that is a restaurant. Across the street from the Cow Palace. Just kinda cool for the kiddos.
We could still GeoCache with just one GPS. Once we get close, just had it over to the kids to go find.
I also thought of Reid Park Zoo or the AZ-Sonora Desert Museum.
My kids are 2yo and 4mo. The both love to ride in the car, go on adventures, and finding stuff (like caches). Ok, well, the 4mo just drools, but the 2yo is usually pretty adventuresome.
As far as announcing goes, in the past we have just posted a message in the Southwest forum. I doubt many from Phx would go, but you might be able to round up a few from Tucson/SoAz. |

Forgot to add...
I doubt we will be going down to GV this weekend, probably next. That should be enough time to get something setup. |

Sounds good! I vote for the cow palace! and geocaching! (what kind of GPS do you guys have?)
Let's put it on the Southwest forum - but there's been no activity there for a really LONG while - shall we do a general message on the general board to get Tucson, Phx. etc. based Pilots to look at the SW forum? |

My regular GPSr, a Garmin Venture, is in for repairs. My son ATE the joystick off the front. Little darling, huh? I'm sure you can relate ;)
So I'm borrowing a Magellan SportTrak Pro from a friend. I like it a lot and am considering buying one for myself.

How about a message on the general forum to let them know about the 'official' message on the SW forum. |
