VTM Fluid change and a problem - Click HERE for Original Thread
s6skuzy
Hi,

I just changed my VTM fluid and had a problem afterward. Once I completed changing the fluid, the car won't start. All it does is a fast clicking noise when trying to start it. I had the radio on while doing the change, but it shut off sometime during the change. I didn't pay attention at what point though. When I try and start the car, I hear a real fast clicking. I stop trying to start, and the gages look to be jumping in the same clicking fashion. Does anyone have any ideas???

Thanks

I had to start it and move it into position and it started without any problems. I washed and waxed it yesterday and must have hit the light switch on the second row grab handle. I noticed it was on. Must have been on for about twelve hrs. Thanks for your reply...

Try CMasten's idea changing all the interior lights to LED. It will solve any future accidents. Here's a link,

Do you have to re-enter the security code for the radio?

Other than that how did it go? I did mine also about a month ago. Saved myself a little money.

It's just one of those days I guess... I unhooked the battery and charged it, knowing I would have to re-enter the code. I couldn't find any jumper cables, so I didn't have much choice. Oh well, it starts. Just have to find the code for the radio now.

The VTM change went smooth. Bolts were tighter than expected, but was able to break lose. Fluid look a little dirty, by we tow a 2800lb boat. We have a little over 15K miles on it, so it was time.

Thanks for the help... Now off to find the code...

Found the code on the Honda Owner Link. Guess that does come in handy... All set now. Now gonna stay in the house and watch the football game. More excitement than I needed today.

Thanks again

Make sure to reprogram the auto feature on the front driver side window.

Probably need to do the "idle learn" procedure.

The Delphi batterys in the Pilots are junk. Lots with bad cells. Take it back to the dealer and have it tested. During the first two years they replace it free with a Honda battery if a problem is found. I had the same problem. They replaced free of charge. Car starts more energetically too now.
