I purchased my 2004 Pilot EX used and it has always had a "creaking" sound like plastic or styrofoam rubbing together from the dash on the passenger's side. It can be heard when starting and stopping but mostly stops while driving straight ahead and seems to be worse when the temperature is cold.
I am able to reproduce the noise by turning the steering wheel with the engine on or off. Had the stearing system and linkages checked and they are fine.
Have seen posts on the the 2003 models that the struts could cause this sound. Also have read posts about the radio causing the problem. My pilot was in an acident on the front passenger side and I know that the strut there is very slightly bent (from having the front end aligned). I am just wondering if the strut could be the problem? |
