2006 2wd slight vibration on highway - Click HERE for Original Thread
Laz
This could be me, but it seems that my 06 2wd Pilot EX has a slight steering wheel vibration between 60-75 mph. It only has 280 miles.
Now, mind you, the vibration is not bad at all, but it kind of bothers me little that it's there. Could it be the type of tires? I wonder if putting more miles on it will help.

My 05 Odyssey drives find on the highway. Right now, I'm on a business trip and I rented an 06 Malibu Maxx, and there's no vibration at all.

Anyway, once I get back in town, I will probably take it in. Any advice here? Any other 06s with similar problems?

Thanks,

Laz

Holy cow............please don't tell me they STILL have not fixed the vibrating at 70 in the NEW '06's!!!!!!!!!!!
This has been a problem with the Pilot's since they came on the market in '03.

You are describing what is commonly referred to on this board as the "70 MPH Vibration". Many Pilot owners have described the same problem and have spent a great deal of time and effort trying to get it corrected. Several have had success with a really good alignment shop and wheel balancing.

Not all Pilots have this problem (mine doesn't), but it does seem to effect a good number of them.

Well, that's not good. I'm going to take it in this week if possible and hope for the best.

Right now, it's not really that bad (it's got the slightest vibration), but if it gets worse, then I'll have a big problem with it.

thanks,
Laz

I have an 2006 Pilot LX with almost 200 miles on it. Two days ago I found myself unintentionally doing 70+ (Ooops) and it was as smooth as silk. However, I do have the 4WD version. Mine came with the Bridgestone Dueler H/T's which I was not crazy about. Do the 2WD Pilots have different tires?

WARNING...........be CAREFUL of this. I dont know what you were driving before but I drove a Civic for 9 years which was VERY easy to judge my speed in. The Pilot obviously is a LOT smoother ride and within three weeks of having the Pilot I got a speeding ticket  So be VERY careful. Keep an eye on your speedometer for the first three months or so until you get used to the speed.

I had a 2002 CR-V EX which I drove for over 3 years. I sold it to my son when I bought the Pilot. That was very smooth also, but I am finding out the Pilot is in a different league altogether. What I need to get used to is the power (going from 160 to 244 hp) and the ease with which the Pilot accelerates to highway speed. The CR-V could move pretty quick also, but that car did not sneak up on you like this one. The Pilot is something else.
