Odd OEM HU 'feature' - Click HERE for Original Thread

Not sure if this is just my HU.

Say you were listening to an FM station. Shut off radio, turn off car.

When I get back into car and press 'AM' button cuz I want to catch traffic on my commute... the FM station turns on. It seems like if I press AM or FM, that just turns on the tuner signal. I would have to press on AM again to get to my AM stations.

Is this standard functionality?

I tried this today on my 04 EX and it would turn on to whatever button I pushed. So I had it on FM, turned the radio off, car off, then car on, pushed the AM button, and an AM station came on. Trying the reverse, with radio off, car off, car on, pushed the FM button and the last FM station comes on.

I only had the engine off for a few seconds, so I suppose its possible there is some short term memory for it, but I doubt it. Sounds like a glitch in yours. I never turn the radio off though

thanks for checking... maybe it's just my HU...
I'll ask about it during my next schedule check

When my Pilot was new, I had phantom HU death, and magic channel changing when no one touched the thing. My clock would also lose 10 minutes or so when it would die. None of this would duplicate itself for a tech, of course :3:

This hasn't happened since she was new....which is strange to me. Maybe yours will also just resolve, but I'd definitely make them look at it.
So, you aren't alone in these weird un-honda-like issues.
