Dealer left Tranny Fluid Drain bolt loose..... - Click HERE for Original Thread

So I get my Pilot back from my dealer today (fixing rear main oil seal)

On my way home, the D light blinks on the highway offramp. Didnt think much of it.

Get home, eat dinner. Go to Garage. Nice foot-wide puddle of tranny fluid on the floor.

Drain bolt is finger tight. Heck, not even finger tight. Tight enough to just contact the washer.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luckily I had Honda ATF on hand. Took 3-1/2 quarts to hit the full mark.

So....... what do I ask for? Free lifetime tranny warranty? A free oil change? A Ski trip to Aspen?

Who do I talk to? Honda America? Dealer?

Anyone had this type of experience?

I might just have hit the lottery.

I called the dealer (service open till 10pm) and talked to the night time service advisor lady. Just a new gal, handles car pickups, oil changes, etc. Anyways, I tell her about the loose tranny bolt. She freaks. Goes out and looks at her parking lot, where my Pilot was. YEP. Big lake of fluid.

She says she will have my original serv. advisor call me in the morning.

10 minutes later my advisor calls me at home. Just about crying, so upset.
Wants to tow me back in to check things out. Wants to schedule a meeting with the service head manager, etc, etc. I guess they figure they know Im gonna bust some nuts around there, so they just bring me in and sweet'n me up with coffee and donuts?

Anyways, Im going in there with both barrels loaded. I aint walkin' out till I get free tranny fluid service and tranny warranty for life. This dealer offers free fifetime drivetrain warranty on all their new cars anyways, so my request isnt much of a stretch.

So it took 3 1/2 quarts to fill the trans? Driven home 3 1/2 quarts low. Was it slipping? 3 1/2 quarts is about what it takes to do a single drain and fill of ATF. How about asking for a new transmission.

Firm and reasonable often gets you want you want.

Either Aggressive or Unreasonable usually get you nothing.

If it looks like they can't make you happy no matter what they do, then why should they try;
Whereas, if it looks like you can be made happy, they may do all it takes to get you there.
