Has anyone noticed how similar the 2006 Pilot looks to a Range Rover. I recently purchased a 2006 EXL 2WD w/NAV in Amazon Green. The first thing I thought about when I saw it was, 'This kinda reminds me of the Range Rover.' Then, I parked next to one in a parking lot and got a side by side comparison. Wow, the similarities were remarkable! Anyone else notice this? Just wondering.

| I guess your happy with your decision!!! Just think in 4 years, your truck will be worth something and your repairs somewhat reasonable. Have you taken a look at the depreciation of the Land Rovers, repair costs and fuel consumption? Something I considered when I was considering a few years ago whether or not to pick up a gently used one. |

| While some styling cues may be similar, a Pilot lacks the need for constant repairs. :D |

I can't figure out why anyone would want a Land Rover vehicle (period) unless they intend to go off-roading on a regular basis. British vehicles didn't start out with a good reputation - and then Ford bought almost all of their marques (which ironically enough may have actually improved their prospects for reliability). Either way, I think I'd save myself a few grand and pick-up a Jeep or an H2 before I'd buy an LR - I'd still have my share of issues, but it would be a helluva lot more reliable and I wouldn't lose as much on resale.
Anyone remember the movie "The Gods Must be Crazy"? They used to call the Land Rover in that movie "The Anti-Christ". How appropriate ;) |

When Ford bought Jaguar, Rover and Volvo, they brought the first two up to their level, and brought Volvo down to their level. I must admit though, every taillight on recent Volvos seems to stay lit.:p |

I actually drove an LR3 last thursday, and I thought that it was a very nice vehicle. I am looking to trade my Accord in for a new SUV, and i will inherit the wifes '04 Pilot. I have a feeling we are going to go with an '06 EX-L, but i wanted to see what else was out there.
The SE v-8 i looked at with navi and 3rd row seats came in just over 50k, a little too steep in my oipinion for the truck. I liked it a lot, but not almost 20k more than a truck i already love.
Looking forward to being a 2 Pilot family

My sister got a new 05 LR3 for a tad over 50K. I rode in it and, indeed, it is very nice. And it looks good too. 300HP V8 and it drives really nice.
She has had 3 gas tanks in it in the 10 months she has owned it (factory recall) and had replaced the fuel pump already. As she put it, it seems the gas tanks last about 4 months or so... :eek:
So, in three years, her LR3 might have the same or lower resale value than my 06 Pilot. Oh well.... :rolleyes:
