Here's my experience with this dealer. First, I also ride a Honda Gold Wing, and have bought all my bikes here. So when I got my Pilot I went with the same dealer. The two service departments are separate for bikes and automobiles but unfortunately the quality of service I got on the Pilot SUCKS.
I was told by my salesman after purchase, to bring it in, around 1,000 miles to have a free "24 point inspection" and free oil change. This, I did. After getting the keys from the mechanic, I asked if they found anything upon doing their "24 point inspection". He looked at me like I was from Mars...and said, well, if you would have had any trouble you would have noticed something before now since it usually crops up before 1000 miles. Translation: NO they didn't do a 24 point inspection. Then I asked if the oil was changed and he said yes.
After I got home, about a 60 mile drive, I checked the oil and it was as black as it was before I had the so called "service". I crawled underneath and to me the oil filter looked the same. Not shiney and new. To try to shorten the story up here: I called and they insisted that they changed the oil.
On my NEXT trip for a scheduled oil change, I FIRST crawled under the vehicle and made a couple of tiny marks on the oil filter with a magic marker. Upon getting it home, I checked the oil and it was not as dark as before the servicing, but was a darker carmel color and OVER the full mark on the dipstick. I checked underneath and my oil filter was STILL intact with the marks. I called the dealer and lost my cool. They sent me oil and a filter and 20 bucks to get it changed locally. I have not been back there since. I do all my servicing at another Honda Dealer, Tanner Motors, in Brainerd MN and they are GREAT. My score for Honda House, with "1 being the best and "10" being the worst is....."99". |
