Aux input for '06 EX w/ Nav - Click HERE for Original Thread

Is there anyway to add an aux input (or hardwire any input for that matter) to the '06 w/Nav? Looking around Logjam and reading on HP.org, it looks like the P.I.E. X3 with the P.I.E. X3-HON03 X3 Wiring Harness might work. The description on the website makes me think that it might do the trick:

quote:
# Compatible with the following vehicles with or without navigation and with factory XM installed (XM subscription does not have to be active but XM option must be installed): 2003-2006 Honda Accord
# 2005-2006 Honda CR-V
# 2003-2006 Honda Element
# 2005-2006 Honda Odyssey
# 2006 Honda Pilot
# 2006 Honda Ridgeline
# 2004-2006 Honda S2000
# 2004-2006 Acura TL
# 2004-2006 Acura TSX (Not compatible with Type-S)
# 2005-2006 Acura MDX.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Blitzsafe has a new one that was backordered for several weeks while they tested and retested every model covered. The hold up was because of the 06 Pilot w/ factory XM. IIRC, it had a problem when in AUX mode, and then shutting down the car. When restarting, both XM and AUX would mix together.

Mine finally shipped today, so that tells me the problem is now fixed.

Yep, that has been the bug per my conversation with them on Wednesday.

But get this; I just got a shipping notice from them!?!? Can it really be true? My harness is on the way?? We'll see

I have USA SPEC2 HON2 Interface along with the "Y" Splitter cable.

The XM and the AUX do mix when you cut the car on but all I do is cycle through the inputs with the stearing wheel once to get back to CD 6 or whatever for the ipod and it does not mix anymore. Only happens when you first turn the car on. But other than that it works great.

The USA SPECS noone seems to have but I lucked out and got one.

Be careful with the AUX input with the 2006 models. I tried installing the USA-SPEC and found that there is no 14-pin port for AUX. Seems like Honda changed the interface for 2006. I am trying to find a harness which would fit the 2006 model.

That doesn't sound good. From the picture on logjam's site it looks like the adapter I specified does use the 14-pin port.

For the USA SPEC product, I found out that you need the HON2 adapter, which has the proper interface for 2004+ models...see here

You need an adapter for a 2006 without XM, correct? Maybe the P.I.E. harness will work for me after all since I do (will) have the XM already installed.
