I just got a 06 Pilot EXL 4WD and have been having issues with the rear suspension. When i drive through parking lots or speed bumps around 5-15 mph i hear this noise coming from my rear suspension. It sounds like the shocks are creaking like they are bad. I took my car in twice already for this and drove around with the service manager to have him listen to it. The service manager heard it and said he will take a new 4WD pilot out on the road to see if thats a problem on all 4WD pilots. After the test drive, he told me that he heard it in the new Pilot as well.
Is this a common problem on all 4WD pilots? |

| Thanks for the response. I think I am going to call Honda of America and ask them about this. I've taken my car to 2 different Honda dealerships to have them fix this. |

This happened to me and a couple fo folks here at the office that bought Pilots last year. I just hit the rubber parts of the shocks with some silicon spray and it has not returned in 15k miles.
There is a thread up here that shows you where to spray. |

| I have a 2005 EX-L with a similar problem when having people sit on the 3rd row. It sounded like squeaking noise from the rear suspension springs. Should I try to spray or take it to the dealership to have a look? May be they need to be replaced? Any suggestions? |

I have the identical problem. The only difference is that I have a 2WD, not a 4WD. Have you had any luck getting this fixed? Spraying silicon back there seems like a bandaid - I want to fix the real problem, not cover it up. |

I had the rear suspension noise just after 250 brand new miles on my Pilot.
I sprayed silicon on the rubber components of the rear shocks.
I've never heard the noise since then. I now have 26k miles on my odometer.
If this seems like a band-aid fix to you, then just go see a dealer.
I'm sure they'll fix the real problem and not cover it up.:) |

Great info here on this forum. I just picked up my 06 Pilot two weeks ago and yesterday I had four passengers and lots of luggage in the back and this noise reared its ugly head. I immediately called the dealer and have an appointment on Wednesday. I'm going to try spraying silicon on the rubber components tomorrow and see if it does the trick. Glad I found this info. Thanks. |

Exact same issue on our 05. They finally just lubricated some rubber brushings on the rear and all is good for ~30K miles.
