jack storage position 2006 pilot - Click HERE for Original Thread
kevm
Hello everyone.

This is a dumb question, but I am trying to make sure I have the jack stowed properly in my pilot.
I attempted to remove the jack the other day and at first could not figure out how to remove it from the sleave. Finally, I read the manual and it said to turn the jack head ccw to release it. Someone at the factory really had it compressed into the sleave. I needed the wrench to loosen it almost a full turn before I could continue by hand, and it finally came out.

So, on to my question. When I returned the jack to the sleave, I turned it fully clockwise and dropped it in. I do not remember the original position, but the top plate of the jack is now extended above the sleave, (you can see a little less than half of the plate above the top of the sleave) and a portion of the bottom plate of the jack is positoned over the plastic cover above the sleave on the pilot. I did not make the jack as snug as the factory, but did tighten it until it does not move easily.
Can someone else with a 2006 or simialr pilot tell me if the jack plates are supposed to be partially above the holding sleave, and if a portion the bottom jack plate does cover some of the plastic behind it when in position?
I know it sounds like a crazy question, but the last thing I need is to damage the rear quarter panel from the inside of the vehicle.

Thank you all in advance for checking this.
