Hi folks -
We just took delivery on a new '06 Pilot EX-L w/Navigation. We absolutely love the vehicle.
One question:
* There is a noticeable "rustling/rattling" noise right behind the driver side area, near the door seals/seatbelts/liner area. It's hard to pintpoint it exactly, but it sounds like it is coming from the rubber door seal area best that I can tell. It's not so much a rattle as it almost sounds like paper rustling. It's not constant but it's somewhat of an annoyance because it's basically directly next to the left ear...
Anyone hear of something like this?
Thanks,

| Window scrunch has been discussed extensively here. |

| Heimlich maneuver it! See the end of the tread linked to in thbe prior post. Works like a charm (seriously) |

| I'm reluctant to try that on a brand new car. I think I'll give the dealer a shot at fixing it first, as it seems like something that Honda should take care of. It scares the crap out of me to try and bend the doorframe. :) |

I know when I started driving mine a few weeks back my head spun around 180 degrees tring to find a rattle. it ended up being the male end of a seatbelt buckle wiggling around. If you haven't tried, have someone drive it and you sit in the back to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from. Man I hate rattles. |

Thanks! I hate rattles too. :)
I'm 99.9% sure it's in the window/rubber seal area. I can replicate the noise when I lightly push on the window when it is up. I'm fairly confident they'll be able to fix it easily, but you just never know with these things. I do know that is drives me insane, so one way or another I have to get it corrected.
Thanks,

The service department at Berkeley Honda just called and said they researched the problem and it sounds like a bit of silicone is needed near the window and seals.
Does that sound right to folks? |

That's the temporary fix. The heimlich manuever is the permanent fix. |
