IPOD with 05 factory head unit - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hello,

I have done considerable research on the best way to connect an IPOD to the factory head unit on a 05 Pilot. It seems that for 05 and earlier, the head unit has a single port for the CD changer which would be used by the IPOD connection (USA SPEC-PA11HON). Unfortunately, I do not want to disconnect the CD changer so I was wondering if there are any other options that have been successful. I know there is a y-adapter for the 06's but I am assuming that this adaptor will not fit an 05 head unit, is this correct? Is there any reason why a y adaptor would not work with the 05 head unit (electrically)? Has anyone figured out a way to hard wire a IPOD into a 05 head unit AND keep the factory CD changer?

If hardwiring is not an option, then can anyone suggest a good wireless device or provide any feedback on the cassette devices?

Thanks

Tim

Sorry, I should have given the vehicle specs:

05 Pilot
- Factory head unit (single CD with casette)
- Factory in-dash CD changer

I have already purchased a SPEC-PA11HON but quickly found out I needed to disconnect the CD changer. I wouldn't be opposed to sending the PA11HON back and buying something else, or doing a little soldering :)

Thanks

Tim
