| I have the urge this weekend to remove my stock sub and installing my MTX 5510 sub in its place. Though the MTX isn't rated as a freeair sub, do you think it will sound o.k.? I plan on sealing the space the best I can. I need to get rid of the stand alone sub box because it is getting in the way. I have done a search on this topic, but I was just wondering if this sub would be alright for this application? Thoughts? |

| Nobody has any input on this? I was going to try it out this past weekend, but had to do yard work instead. I am looking to try the sub in the factory location this weekend. |

You should be in good shape. I have a 4510 in the stock location and it sounds pretty good considering it isn't a great sub and is not in a truely sealed enclosure. Also both the 4510 and 5510 are listed as free air compatible at Sound Domain.

PTO, thanks for the info on the 5510. I did not realize it was listed as free air compatible. I can't wait to regain my cargo area in the Pilot.... |

It does make a big difference. You can always do what I did and rig it so you can choose between the stock location or a box. I can make the switch in about 5 seconds too.
