| Does anyone know if it's possible to add the OEM navigation system to a 2006 Pilot EX (without RES)? I know that the '06 nav has voice recognition and additional buttons on the steering wheel so this might not be possible or too expensive. Just curious. Thanks in advance. |

| The last time this question came up, parts alone were over $3000. Not worth it. The NAVI system is still over $3000 at Majestic Honda, and that doesn't include the console trim pieces, etc. |

How about the portable GPS option?
I considered the factory GPS when I bought ours, but then decided that I liked being able to move it from car to car when I travel.
I don't have voice commands, but feel like I have everything else.
Plus, GPS systems have come down a great deal recently in price. |

You have to record each CD one by one....there's no external connection to your PC. Imagine how long it will take to fill up 20GB. Also the built-in Gracenote database cannot be externally updated as well....if you have a new CD that's not in the database, you'll have to input the data yourself. Don't get me wrong...it's a nice unit with great features - it just comes up short on real-world usability. I would still prefer the factory setup and an iPod or a factory setup with Alpine's OEM interface unit with their USB media player for only $400. |

I actually have a portable TomTom Go but I prefer the built-in GPS. I have an Accord with the OEM nav and I love it. I find the portable ones a pain to use.
Thanks for the feedback though. I agree that $3000 is way too much for the OEM kit, although the back up camera would be nice to have. |
