Just did the 30k service on our 2004, they found an oil leak on the front of the engine. Here are the tech's notes:
"Oil residue around the back of the t-belt tensioner. Remove the t-belt covers and removed the t-belt tensioner. Found that oil was not leaking from the seal/rod assym on tensioner. Found oil on the lower tensioner bolt and hole. Called Honda tech line. Was advised to clean off area and use leak trace powder to check for where leak is coming from. Cleaned off area and used leak trace on surrounding area as per tech line. If leak is still coming from the lower bolt then will have to replace short block. Advised ASM and will have cust bring back at next oil change or sooner."
Anyone else had the same problem? |

Any updates on this problem or is anyone else seeing this ?
My 04 Pilot with 20,000 miles
has been diagnosed with a porous engine block. Oil is leaking from an area near the oil pan. The dealer installed a new oil pan, oil pump housing, added dye to the oil, and determined the oil is coming through the block.
New short block has been ordered by the dealer, should be in next week. I'm just curious if things went smoothly for others who had the block changed. Thanks. |
