| I have a friend who works for a WATER BOTTLING CO. One day, he told me that he was cited for TEMPORARY PARKING for less than 5 minutes on a NO-PARKING ZONE with EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON. he said he was behind a FEDEX VAN who also parked there first on the NO PARKING ZONE. I asked him if the driver of the FEDEX VAN was also cited. he said "NO" the FEDEX driver parked there for almost 15 minutes. FEDEX and UPS VAN are they exempted? Because I've seen them parked anywhere they want. |

It probably varies from city to city, but in general, I think delivery vehicles are allowed to park in certain no parking zones for a short amount of time. I've seen regular cars parked in no parking zones with delivery/courier permits that didn't get ticketed either.
Did your friend have a delivery permit for his van?
You friend should contact the police department to get clarification on this so he/she doesn't have any problems in the future. |
