Whelp, the wife discovered my deep down secret yesterday. She found my amps, wiring, distro blocks, etc. that I recently installed in the headrest storage area of my Pilot. I was trying to keep it hush hush because she thinks car stereos are immature and ghetto. We were sitting outside and I was sorting through my golf bag, which was in the back of the Pilot when I discovered that I needed to add some golf balls to my bag for the next round. I went to the shelves in the garage where I keep my golf balls when all of a sudden I hear “Don’t you keep your spare golf balls in, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SHI*” (I use to keep a few dozen golf balls in the headrest storage area). I wish there was a camera on me just to see my reaction because I was at a loss for words. After some explaining she is fine with it, but I am not allowed to buy anymore stereo crap! (Does that include the new Ipod and Sirius radio adapter kits that should be arriving in the mail this week?)

Busted! That is a funny story. I think most of us get caught at the least expected moment.
Never ask permission, because if it is no, and you do it, you are in bigger trouble if you are caught. Pluse she will be making sure you didn't do it since it was NO, right?
If you never ask and do it, you may or may not get caught, then you can say I was going to tell you but....

| Sounds like me. I recently was shopping around for a mountain bike. After telling the wife I was thinking about buying one she asked how much. I told her around 350.00. Low and behold I spent 600.00 all said and done. I made the mistake of telling my neighbor while my wife was talking to his wife. She asked me later about the 600.00 dollars I spent on the bike and why it was so much more than I told her. Boy did I think up some quick answers. All in all she was ok with it. :1: |

I was busy taking pictures with my Canon Digital Rebel that I've had for a while the other night and a fellow Coach asked me how much it was "about a $1000?" was his question..........I don't think my wife heard even though she was just a few feet away........
Then there is the 70-300 image stabilizing lens I bought....and the new flash gun.......

Can't help you with the argument on the iPod, other then it's a great device.
I've had the priceless moment before, except it was for a car purchase. I set out a Saturday without a word and came back with a Honda CRV. She came home and wondered why I was home but my trcuk wasn't in it's parking spot.
I wanted to say it was stolen, instead I said my car is where I parked it, she went back out and then the conversation started.
Now if I could stop the electronic purchased, I'd stop getting that angry spouse syndrome. |
