Virginia Speeding Ticket? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I was in VA two weeks ago and got a ticket. I am wondering if VA shares their DMV database with NY. If they do share my insurance will probably go up. I called my insurance agent and they had no idea. I know PA and NJ share with NY...
Any ideas?

Also, this was the first long road trip I took with my pilot. I have gone this route 8 times before with my Acura TSX. I was never pulled over going from NY to AL in my TSX but the first time I take the pilot I get pulled over twice in the same day. Strange...

I'm be suprised if they shared information and even more suprised if your insurance went up.
Just out of curiosity, how fast did we get her going?

I got a ticket in Georgia a few years back. (4th of July weekend) and they said that if I took a driving course. I took the course, mailed it to Georgia and they cleared my record and North Carolina never knew anything it. But keep copies of everything. Had a friend that the paperwork got fouled up and they had a time proving anything.

I got a ticket 4 years ago in Nevada, They shared with California and my insurance went up. Speeding tickets will usually effect insurance rates, non moving violation almost never will.

Call Virgina DMV< ask if you can take a course and get the ticket waived. That should remove it from any records. I tried with Nevada, they do not allow deductions, and California would not becuase the ticket came from nevada, I had to deal with them.

Meanwhile an extra $800 for 3 years because the ticket.

78 in a 65. I spent an hour on New Yorks DMV site and found that NY doesn't obtain speeding ticket info from other states. Except from Quebec and Ontario.

I don't know about NY but PA shares info with VA. My insurance renewal went up due to a ticket I got last July on the PA Turnpike. They even told me that was the reason. I never mentioned it to them.
