J. D. Power Survey - Click HERE for Original Thread
jay
Today I received a J. D. Power survey in the mail. It's a "2006 Vehicle Shopping Survey," and the surprising thing is that they offered no option to complete the survey online.

I'll keep their dollar, but no way will I answer 51 questions on an old style completely fill in the circle form. I was also surpried to learn that they're a McGraw-Hill company.

I sent an email telling them I'd consider completing an online version of the survey. We'll see what response I get.

So far, I've received no response whatsoever, even though they have a phone number, postal address, and email address. Oh well.

Exactly. I have a couple of extra wired and wireless keyboards laying around the house, but haven't had a number 2 pencil since two moves ago.:p

That's why Buick always rates really high on JD Power surveys - the over 65 crowd can't figure out computers so they only have #2 pencils........:4: .

Interesting observation. That being the case, I doubt you'd ever see Scions rated highly in J.D. Power surveys - they're so last millenium!:D

The only crowd I've even seen in the Scion Xb is the over 65 crowd. It seems to be a popular retirement vehicle over here, you should see the rating skyrocket with #2 users.

In this area xA's and tC's are driven by the younger crowd, and I've only seen younger women driving xA's, but the xB seems to cut across age and gender lines.

I see very few xAs and tCs around here - it's mostly xBs. While the majority are teens, I have seen some older folk in them.

Basically what I've seen the in NW. xB seem to lean more towards older crowds, but the tC's are the younger crowd, haven't seen more then 2 xA's to form a consensus.

Although I've seen a fair amount of teens and young adults driving Scions around, the vast majority are olde farts - same goes for Elements. I wonder what the appeal is to the blue hair crowd?

Speaking of Elements - I saw one the other day where the owner had changed the badge to read "HELLEMENT". It used the same style and typeface as the original badge, almost didn't even notice it. I'm guessing he doesn't like his car!

...

I can tell you the appeal from this old fart's standpoint for the xB - SUV functionality with 30+ mpg, for less than $16k. Lotta money left over for Clairol or Grecian Formula!:p

Still no response to my email, but I did get a form letter postcard asking me to return the completed survey by July 25. No email address, no 800 number, no website. Just the postcard from J.D. the 3rd.

I thought that was in Consumers Report?

I get phone surveys all the time, no J.D. Powers.
