Thanks for the link. Will send it to my father in law. He flew a PBY Catalina in WWII. Came out and refused to fly again, even for the airlines. Has never said much about it. Last visit he did talk a little over some old photo. Told us how the PBY wan't supposed to land in the ocean and pick rescue them but to loiter overhead and help boats get there. Said one time there was no boat within reasonable distance. They landed. Said it sounded and felt like the plane was falling apart on take-off.
Like I said, he got out and buried it. My father never talked hardly about WWII either. I think my father in law will enjoy this link. Thanks.
This would be a good Veterans Day Link. |

| If you have not read Tom Brokaw's "Greatest Generation" you need to do so. The book will give you great insight into that generation (My Father's) and why they are what they are. In general terms, Americans are spoiled and have it so easy versus just a couple generations ago. There is now a faction in the US that feels we are the enemy which is so furthest from the truth. People in this world want to take away what we have and we need to remember what previous WWII vets have done for us. We cant give away what they fought to give us. Fred |
