Looking to replace our old 94 8 person tub with a 4=6 person tub. Looking at a Hot Springs Prodigy.....anyone with this brand, good bad other. Just don't need the size anymore and would like better efficency.

I have a HotSprings Vanguard and love it. Going on a year now and its very efficient, easy to change out the water (every 4 months) and super quiet, overall I dont think there is a better made spa. We have 2 other friends that bought HotSprings and they all feel the same way, if Honda made spas they would be just like HotSprings.. very well thought out and dependable.

Also www.spadepot.com is the place to buy your supplies, flat 2.95 shipping on any size order , no tax outside of WA and excellent prices and service. btw.. they also have the best prices I have found on 303 protection products!

A few years ago, we had a Tiger River, which you probably know is by Hotspring. It was a six person. I don't remember the model but it was great. Take a look at their Bengal model. Everyone I know of who has or had a Tiger River swears by them. What ever model you get, definitely wire it for 230v and get the higher powered heater. Ours was wired 230v with a 5500w heater. Huge performance difference over a standard 115v and 1500w or so.

I did look at the Tiger River, but we can get a "deal" on an 05 Prodigy for $5398 with the top lift. And yes, ita already wired for 230V since thats what our old tub runs. It was a power hog though, with 475gal of water to heat plus two 6 horse pumps and a 1.5hp blower. Tons of room, before kids, our house was party central, we were the only ones married so we had lots o single friends at the house ALL of the time. If we weren't out of town, we'd have 8 to 10 people in the tub, watching sporting events, movies, whatever. God only knows how much beer was spilled in that thing. A couple moved away, a couple got married, then we had kids so the party weekends ended. Now its just us and another couple every so often so we need to down size, also need more room on the deck for a larger grill. We've just had a few problems with the Emerald we have and don't want a Ford or Chevy (never owned a Dodge) version of a hot tub.
