On Thursday, my wife informs me that the engine trouble light came on and would not reset.
We had just gotten back from vacation on that Sunday and on the way back ran over a fresh road kill deer carcass on the freeway. It bounced around under the Pilot, but I did not see any damage. The VW Passat behind us unfortunately was launched airborne a little, I'm sure they had some type of damage but they continued on.
Any way, the service department at our dealer checked out the underside of our Pilot and saw no damage. They claim the Pilots undersides are well protected, I can agree to that.
I forgot the code, but it has to do with fuels emission evacuation from the gas tank. Could have been the gas cap, or someone filling up while the Pilots engine is running.
Guess what, On my last fill-up of the vacation my girls wanted to keep watching their video, so I turned the key to the pre-ignition stage thinking I turned the engine off but the battery on, filled-up, and then, and then ............Turned the key again to start the Pilot....OUCH.
I hate that sound. What a quiet engine.
So, would anyone have a complete list of codes for an 04' Pilot.: |

P0446 is the loose gas cap code.
Autozone can read all generic codes like this one for free |
