Of course, if you have a large family (or a family period) then you probably use your Pilot for hauling them around.
And I'm sure some of you use it for cargo transport or for towing purposes.
Me? I'm buying a Pilot for no other reason than its looks. And it's a Honda! Otherwise, and demographically speaking, I really should have no other reason to get one... I'm married but don't have any kids which means the 2 rows of back seats will be unoccupied for the most part, all my friends drive so I won't be driving them around, I don't tow anything, I work in an office so the most cargo space I will take up is the size of my laptop bag, and I go grocery shopping once a week = 4-5 bags total. This doesn't make any sense does it?
I'm curious to know how many people here are like me. |

I bought the my pilot for the same reason. I bought it for it's features, quality and looks. Right now it spends a lot of time in the garge being stared at by me. I won't drive it to work, I use my '95 accord for that.
I got the 4wd because we took our daughter to the snow last year (she's 5) and she fell in love with snow, so we'll be making trips up there in our new Pilot this winter. She also told me when she gets older, that's going to be her car...good taste in cars for a 5 year old! |

| Family of four plus dog. We also spend a lot of time with my parents, so we roll 6 deep pretty often. Trailer hitch to tow my vw projects and occasional camp trailer. 4wd so I don't have to pull over and put chains on when I'm going to the snow.:4: |

I'm actually in a situation similar to yours except i am still single. i do have a lot of friends though and in chicago as u know, parking is a b**ch most of the time and expensive.
I prob drive most of my miles with 6 to 8 ppl in the car. it's great, we don't have to take many cars to the movies or events and we all split parking.
I also use it to haul my stuff and move folks, their stuff and recently a big dog from the animal hospital back home.
It's so nice to have a Pilot :D |

Married with no children, so most of the time the back two rows are empty. The Pilot does come in handy for those times that we go out with another couple and their kids, or the parents and grandparents. The Pilot is our only option to having to take two cars. And about once a month I need to lay both rows down for a Lowe's/Home Depot run.
If I feel too guilty for commuting to work solo in a big 'ole SUV, I'll just take the motorcycle the next day ... that evens things out.:D |

| Married no kids, use it to go to bicycle races or just go out in on the weekends. Sits in the garage for 5 days a week. |

I am the oldest son in a tranditional Chinese family. Therefore I move back with my retired parents with my wife and 2 kids.
Whenever we go out, there will be 6 ppl going out together. Therefore, I need a car sits at least 6. I was comparing MDX/Ody/Pilot when I shop around but end up with Pilot as for the price/value.
If I am married but didn't have a big family like this, I would have keep my TSX and my wife's CRV. :(
But other than that, I don't see myself buying anything other than Honda/Acura. :4: |

| What position is your third row usually in? Take the 3rd row seat poll here. |

I'm single and I'm really using the Pilot as an SUV. It takes me wherever I want to go with all my friends and gear. I drove to Tahoe about 10 times last winter, sometimes with 6-7 people plus ski gear. The 4wd is great for driving in snow.
During the summer, I take the Pilot to go camping, mountainbiking and kitesurfing.
It's such a practical car, I love my Pilot :) |

Normally my wife use Pilot LX 4WD for work but We have two kids and my parents. My mom has a knee surgury so I had to buy SUV or VAN. I like SUV and so does my wife.
Perfect for six people. |

| The Pilot is also great for shopping and trips to the home improvement store. I have saved hundreds of dollars in delivery fees by picking up large ticket items myself in the Pilot. |

Third row stowed, second row too sometimes.
Two in the family unless visited by daughter, grandson and son in law.
Great vehicle for everything I need to do.
P.S. Double bed mattress fits perfectly in back if both rows are stowed, but I have not given it a full load test yet!!! |

I'm married and have a one year old son. My parents visit us sometimes. I bought Pilot because it has more room and 4WD. It's much better to sit 5 ppl in Pilot than my Camry.
My wife uses Pilot to school. It's also our weekend drive. 4WD for winter to the snow, no more chain. |

I take the train to work most days. My wife drives our older Subaru Forester for her work.
So my 2006 EX_L AWD is used for:
1) Family Road trips on weekends and long vacations. .
2) Buisness trips - taking clients out - or my team to sites.
3) If we are going for an nice evening out - or taking freinds out - as the car is Lux and large.
4) The AWD was need for snow here in the Chicago area and my house is on a hill and you can't get up the driveway if it has alot snow on it and you don't have 4wd or AWD. |

Married and the two rows are usually down so my wife and I can get it on in the back . . . . :D
All kidding aside, our first child came on Christmas last year, and the Pilot was pretty much a no-brainer for me as I was scooting around in an S2000 at that time. Although we had her TSX, we found it was nice to have the extra room when doing everyday things like buckling our daughter in the car seat (whacked my head twice on the frame of the TSX when not being careful bending in), stowing her stroller/jogging stroller, etc., etc. - we are also quite active so it was nice to have the space for our mountain bikes, surf/snow boards, etc., etc.
The pilot is being used primarily for everyday activities and errands and occasional long trips. And it just got back from a very fun outing to the local OHV park . . . pics to come. |

Perhaps not having the Pilot before you got married may have prevented you from having more kids. ;) |

This Pilot has some really big shoes to fill.......we bought the Pilot to replace our 87 Chevy Suburban.
The Suburban was bought for my wife by her mother when she needed a car to take her mom and her wheelchair from chemo.
mom is no longer with us but we kept the truck and I could swear her spirit is in that truck.
The Suburban has NEVER stranded us. We have 225,000 miles on it and it is still in my possesion but is listed to be sold.
My wife cried at the Honda dealer and without her explaining why...I knew. |
