In our busy adult lives, once in a while even if just for a few minutes, we can sit on the front step, take a sip of fresh brewed iced tea, and look at your kids, or anyone's kids, and be reminded that on a hot summer day, that there are still young, carefree children that can remind us that the world's not such a bad place after all. It takes me back in my own mind to a place and time where the worst pressure in my life was fixing a flat on my bike's tire.
This week, my father in law gave me an old tractor cart that he hadn't been using. I hooked it up to the tractor, and my oldest boy ended up pulling his little brother around the yard as he cut the lawn (he loves to cut the lawn with the tractor). Pretty soon, all the neighborhood kids, some still wet from running around under sprinklers, came over and piled in the back for a ride. They tooled around the yard for over an hour, yelling and laughing and just being kids. With the amount of pressures in my life, it did my heart a lot of good to watch their unabashed carefree innocence, and I did the only thing I could do......
I took this picture, and then I hopped in the cart with them :)

Another month and I'll be selling those too :)
You will note, however, the outstanding condition of the machine for a 20 year old lawn tractor :D |
