How's the leather interior holding up? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Leather's nice. But how's it holding up after say 30-40K= miles? And how are you taking care of it?

30,000 miles - Drivers seat leather started sagging around 4,000 and continues to have that adorable Shar-Pei look. Fought with Honda up to HondaUS but am told 'Its characteristic of the vehicle'. For an unbiased answer stop by a Honda used car lot and check the leather in used vehicles. I regularly use the Lexon (sp?) conditioner product. Not much help with the sags but the cockpit always smells new.

Oh yea, Drivers seat cushion starting to crack on the street side - in-spite of careful (no tush dragging) exit and entry.

I understand that excessive road noise, and sagging seat leather are Hallmarks of the Honda product.

My 05 has just about 17k on it and I take my boys everywhere, I have treated the leather from day one and it looks just about as good today as it did when I bought it. There is very minor wear and tear around the side of the driver seat, but then Im a big guy and would expect that, so all in all I have been very pleased

I am not sure its treating the leather from day one or maybe just where it was assembled or maybe the parts they used at certain times, but its much better leather than I had in my Acura TL thats for sure.

At almost 25K, my driver's seat is a little saggy, but not bad. The "bolsters" on the edges are creased, but not too bad either. All other seats look brandy new. I don't do squat to them, just vacuum (um, 2-3 times a year) and wipe them with a clean, damp towel, usually when I vacuum.

28k miles and 2 years and the leather in our '04 is holding up great. No sagging, and the rear seat (which gets its share of drips/scuffs/crud from our son) cleans up great and looks almost new. And no, I'm not one to keep up with treating the leather. I do clean up the spills with the Lexol cleaning cloths, however, so I'm sure that doesn't hurt....
