I am a tall big guy, 6'6' 355lbs I fit in all seats of the Pilot fine however in the rear for some reason when I put the strap on it's tighter than the front.
Don't get me wrong this is my wives car and I am posting a few issues here but overall its a great vehicle and I enjoy it as much as she does (when she "lets" me drive it hehe) I did install the seat extender thing on passenger side (Chris Reno from this forum helped me on that) and it gave me almost 2 extra inches of leg room and is GREAT!
I do ride in the back sometimes on longer trips and the day we bought this I asked the salesman for some seatbelt extenders knowing for road trips it would be handy etc, also in the rear seat position with that center thing folded down its VERY hard to get seatbelt in around a carseat so extenders are nice to have for that too.
He said no problem I will go order you up some and they will call you when they come in, well no call came and its a good 7 months later here and I was in there for first oil change recently and asked about that "order" he supposedly placed.
The guy was rude and said "Honda doesn't even make a seatbelt extender, your salesman must not have known this when he sold you the vehicle".
So I wrap up my service visit a bit tiffed about that and came home told wife about it and she said that didn't sound right, that she thought they all made seatbelt extenders (all makers).
Curious if anyone here knows the real answer on this, if that guy was wrong I am gonna go in and talk to the service manager and the dealership manager because he was VERY rude about it making me feel dumb even by asking (which he didn't have to do).
BTW this same guy i showed my rear seatbelt in the ceiling (how it keeps falling and SLAPPING the rear window) asked about how to if anyway to fix it, said never seen that as a problem and we must have been putting it in wrong? I KNOW others here have experienced the same thing - I have read threads about it even so on that I know he's way off base saying never been a problem for anyone else and trying to put the blame on me for it.
Even if they don't make extenders, I still might send a letter in about the rude service I got, my salesman was SUPER nice so I might even call him back on it, but if he walks back there and that guy is in service he will just tell him the same as he told me probably, even if they do make them he probably didn't want to take 3 mins and place the order for it (based on his attitude).

I called the Honda Customer Service line when I bought my car and asked about seat belt extenders but for a different reason. I used to have a Lexus RX330, and could barely fit 2 car-seats in the back seat until I learned Lexus/Toyota gives out seat belt extenders for $FREE$. So I assumed all car makers did that. Turns out -- as you were told -- Honda doesn't even make them.
Let me know if you find out otherwise -- but I stopped looking after that. |
