| Does anyone have the instructions for installing an OEM moonroof visor on a 2006? I'll like to take a look at them to see if it is something I can handle or if I need to have the dealer install it. Also does anyone have a picture of one installed on a 2006? |

| Thanks. The instructions and picture are helpful. I was hoping to see a picture from further away to get a better perspective. I guess it isn't that big of a deal because I can probably just lay the visor on the truck and look at it before I install it. Just want to make sure I like the way it looks. Thanks again. |

| I looked for another picture, but couldn't find one; that's the same one on the Honda site. I agree, though, you need a distance shot for perspective. |

| I've also searched for a picture, but couldn't find one. I guess it must not be that popular an accessory? I also noticed that the instructions reference a torque wrench. I don't have one. I wonder if you really need it or just need to be careful not to overtighten the screws? |

Just be careful. I had one back in the '80s on a Volvo 740, and wouldn't do it again. I also wonder how much the gas mileage would be affected; I know for certain that my Form Fit bug deflector cost me a full mile per gallon. |

Why didn't you like it on the Volvo? I had one many years ago on an Accord. I really don't have a strong memory pro or con about the one I had on the Accord. Of course I bought the Accord with the visor on it so I never experienced highway speeds with the moonroof open without the visor. Do you really think it will adversely affect mileage? Also I wonder if or how it will affect the wind passing over the cross bars. |

I found it to be a pain to wash and wax around; my Volvo had a solid metal sunroof, and waxing it was a pain with the deflector in place.
I'ev had sun/moonroofs since, but rarely would open them. Too much wind noise at highway speeds. But the extra light through the glass was nice. |

I also tend to close the moonroof at highway speeds. I'm hoping the visor lessens the problem and increases the utility of the moonroof. I concede it will likely be more difficult to clean around. I still haven't made up my mind.
I'm also waffling on the cargo liner because of the velco. It seems a bit tacky, but I'll probably go ahead and do it. |

The liner was a must for me, for hauling stuff to NASCAR tailgate parties without damaging the interior.:D |

I see what you mean! For me it's principally for hauling the dogs and Home Depot/Pikes Nursery runs. I'm afraid I may be giving WWong a run for his money with all the accessories I'm considering. Cargo liner, Cargo Organizer, Separation Net, and Moonroof Visor. I already have the Cargo Tray, Cargo Cover, Cross Bars and Mud Flaps. |

Here's a link to some better perspective pictures of the moonroof visor installation on a '05 Pilot. It should look very similar on a '06.

Wilson has a kit to help the cargo liner Velcro pieces stay on. Doesn't cost too much IIRC. PM him. |

| For what its worth, I don't have the moonroof visor and when I open the moon roof at 70 it seems to draw air out rather than blow in. Almost no buffeting. Only noise seems to be from the gated piece that swings up when you open the moon roof. Wish I could keep it down. Know its supposed to decrease noise but seems to slightly increase it. |

I agree that there is little buffeting, but the noise level is pretty high. It also seems to me that the stock pop up gate only makes the noise worse. I'm not sure how effective the visor will be with regard decreasing wind noise. My wife saw one on another pilot and thought it looked sharp. Of course she would also like me to buy the flares. I fear that I may be overly accessory happy because the dealer agreed to sell me whatever I want at cost. :2: |

Just make sure you check out the accessory prices elsewhere, because your dealer's "cost" may be higher than someone else's retail, since it's something that is impossible to verify. |

Thank you for the link, but the visor pictured is not the OEM moonroof visor. The OEM moonroof has less of a bubble look. I believe the OEM visor is longer and flatter. |

I've checked and they are legitimate cost numbers (some were confirmed by Tim at HondaAcuraWorld). In fact I have to buy when a manager or owner is on site or the parts guy says he can't do it even though I have it in writing. The only way to go cheaper is to buy non-OEM. For example if I want side steps I believe I can get the Westons cheaper than the dealer's cost for OEM. |

| I just had the moonroof visor and bug guard installed today (actually my wife ordered it for me, I've been talking about it a lot lately). I really do like the way it looks. Tomorrow we are taking a trip down to Carmel for a few days, so I'll see how it works on the free way. Here's a picture of it. It's pretty nice when your wife starts ordering accessories for you! |

As I hoped and suspected, no bubble look.:D Looks good to me, and look forward to hearing how it performs. |

The moonroof visor worked great. Before I had it, I couldn't open the moonroof on the freeway because the noise was so loud. With the visor, I could open the moonroof and have a normal conversation without raising my voice at all. The only thing is, not much wind at all comes in, it pretty much blocks all of the wind out. |

I think I prefer no breeze to loud wind noise. I can always open the windows. I'm going to go for it and order the visor. Thanks for the info. |
