Posting Common Sense - Click HERE for Original Thread
jay
I'm posting this as a companion to the Posting Etiquette thread, which has the usual posting do's and don'ts. We are a great group of members here at hp.org, but there are still some things you should not do.

Don't post your telephone number or email address in a post. If you're selling or buying something, use Private Messaging, then if needed take it to email with that individual, and exchange the necessary information.

Posting your email address or telephone numbers leaves you wide open to the unscrupulous among us, or the spam autobots that are grabbing email address. Stay safe, Be safe; jusy don't do it!

Notice we can't PM or email Jay!

Seriously Jay, there have been times I have wanted to PM you but can't.

For a while I was getting several PMs or emails a night, so I turned it off. Most were questions that were already answered in a thread somewhere.

Aahh. The weight of responsibility of a leader is heavy.

How about turning PM or email on if we promise not to PM or email you. :p :22:

Seriouly, I understand. I keep about five email accounts for various reasons. One is for stores that wnat my email for some reason. Seems that is where I get a lot of my junk mail. Friends and family get another account.

I can see that somebody like you that is as prominant as you are on this board would get a lot of PM and email. Since you don't get paid like moderators :p it could really take your time away. I understand.

LOL

I think all the PM's that Kemo received were one of the contributors to his retirement. It has gotta be tiring to be the easy resource for those unwilling to search / filter thru searches.

And while we're on the topic: It's also poor etiquette to constantly follow jay around taking his picture over and over to sell it to the tabloids... oh wait, I'm getting him confused with Brittany Spears again :D
