Yes, there ARE painted fender flares! - Click HERE for Original Thread
hondacuraworld
After doing some digging with an employee in American Honda parts, we came across ALL of the part numbers for fender flares for the Pilot, as well as pricing. Unfortunately I have no pics, but they are available for order on www.hondacuraworld.com site. According to American Honda, NOBODY in the US has EVER ordered them! (and no wonder why with the digging we had to do).

You could be the first :D

Kinda pricey, but atleast they are already painted! Speaking of paint, my door trim doesn't seem to quite match the door color...anyone else have this problem? Sagebrush.

Now, how do I bring this up to my wife?

Maybe I will get a small ding in the fender lip while she is out of town?

:2: :2: :2:

Not a bad price when you compare to the chrome parts that are much less functional.

Then, when he wakes up in the woods three days later, he can beg for approval to purchase them.

Nothing at all, which explains why Honda's never sold any.....

You know you are in trouble when you come home and your stuff is on the front lawn.

You know you are in REAL trouble when the sprinkler is running!

(nyah nyah :D )

I can always work trades....got any laptops? :)
N_Jay
By the time I don't want them, no one wants them!

What would be the smallest screen and slowest processor you would deem acceptable
hondacuraworld
Anything at least Windows 98 and can accept MS word and office should do, with internet capability. I've got a Compaq Armada 7400 that is a great laptop IMO.

Tim :

Do you have them Stock for Black Pilot ?

KE
hondacuraworld
I'm not going to have physical stock until mid next week at this point.....

How about using contrasting color fender flares? Make the flares match your interior.

For example:

Use silver flares on a black or red Pilot.

Use sandstone on a green Pilot.

Maybe black flares on a silver or sandstone Pilot?

I look forward to pictures so we can get an idea if contrasting colors would work.

Or black flares on a white Pilot?
a2Pilot
That sounds cool. I like it! :D
puccetti
aren't the MDX flares all silver? I think every MDX with flares I have seen are silver.
hondacuraworld
Yep. We've been painting them in house upon request. Acura's very skittish about offering painted accessories after they got stuck with a huge warehouse full of Integra body kits when the aftermarket came out with them en force. Luckily Honda doesn't feel the same way.

Since I missed out on being the Pilot ventvisor installer/picture taking/honest appraiser guy, may I be the first to volunteer for the Pilot fender flare installer/picture taking/honest appraiser guy :D.

My Pilot is an SS (I don't think I'm up for the two tone look) and yes, my wife would not hesitate to throw my stuff on the lawn if UPS showed up with a set of fender flares. But on the other hand, if they were received for testing purposes - hey that's a different story. Of course I would need a note from Tim attesting to the fact that they were sent for demo purposes. :twak:

Easy on the #$**&-whipped jokes :1zhelp::whip:
N_Jay
You just never know how the color could affect the fit.

Please post when available...Show me the flares! or tell me where to go...Chicken Pot Pie Now Woman

So should we assume they will look exactly like the MDX versions? I think they do add something to the MDX - and the Pilot could use a little bolder look to it too. Two tone might be nice, but I don' t think sandstone on the evergreen would be it for me. It would need to be grey or black for a more subtle two tone look....but just sitting here imagining it, I guess I'd stick with the evergreen flares. I am liking this idea -- Yes. I wonder what the dealer would charge for installing. Probably a few hundred.
PILOTHEAD
I wonder if it is similar to installing rear splash guards?:)
hondacuraworld
We have our very first order on a set of Pilot flares :D

He'll have them very soon, and can tell us more detail (I assume it's one of us :) )

Are there any photos of the MDX fender flares anywhere on the internet?

Tim,
I talked to you online the day you first posted the possibility of fender flares. I am like the others, I may need to find a new Mrs. if I add any new accessories. See my list in the sig. below. However, since we talked days ago, maybe you will want to send a sandstone set out for testing and I can provide the shipping info for your shipment.
Regards,
Bob:2:
PILOTHEAD
You know I think the color you really want to test is Sagebrush Pearl, because it is a darker color it will show any imperfections better! and ... I just happen to have a vehicle for this! :D :2:
Mkell
Sagebrush? What! It is obvious that Evergreen would be the color to test - don't you think?? I'll prove it to you. Ummm, of course I will need the flares.:4:
sandman
Looks like I opened up a can of worms for Tim, let us see how he responds. :29:
PILOTHEAD
ummmm.:27:... well.... I dont beleive you green...I guess the only real way to be 100% certain is do all colors and compare :7: however I must say:moon:... again that due to he fact that there has historically been problems with Sagebrush that it is the MOST PREFERED COLOR for testing:25: hey whens the spell checker gonna start working?
hondacuraworld
I wish I could.....reduced price perhaps? Business is just very bad here right now.

And it's not just me, other online parts e-tailers are feeling a huge crunch too with the economy. I'm in contact with 3 of them regularly, and everyone's way down. Sales are less than 50% of what they were a month ago, and that's not just Pilot, but across the board.
PILOTHEAD
might be interested in doing a reduced price but would like to see them on a vehicle first;)
hondacuraworld
Well, yeah, but isn't that defeating the purpose of a "demo"?
PILOTHEAD
well yeah would they be returnable if didnt like 'em.. and how much are we talking? :6:
hondacuraworld
Email me.
BillR
Tim Do you have any pics of the flares themselves yet?

Someone slammed my Pilot with their door and really dented it right above the wheel well.
Fender flares would cover it nicely.

Thanks Bill
hondacuraworld
Nothing yet.....American Honda still hasn't "officially" released them (even though I have sold and shipped them).
LadyJ
Tim, will these flares still work with the front and rear mudguards?
hondacuraworld
To the best of my knowledge, yes......bear in mind that American Honda hasn't officially told us squat about them, even though we're ordering them.
haknuman59
 Yeap, got my Fender Flare installed two days ago. Look great!!! I love it.
Drive by BJ Wholesale club a guy walk toward me and ask is that a Pilot it look so different from mine? This is not an Option where did you get it? I reply "Joint www.honda-pilot.org". Then he reply "I don't have a computer or not good with computer". Well, I gave him Tim and Erik name and hondaccuraworld address. After that, he was just still stand there looking at my fender flare and smile.

Hi guys,
:D banningjr is right, mine and banningjr are look the same, same color and everything else. As a matter of fact I did sent email back and forth with banningjr during my time waiting for my Fender Flare. And it was banningjr pictures that make me wanted to buy those fender flare.

It is bit expensive for six pieces of plastic $382.40, but the look are very impressive, like I stated earlier enough for other Pilot owner to stand there a look at it.
