Where to Stay and Camp in Vermont - Click HERE for Original Thread
Sunday Rider
Hi,
Wondering if anyone out there knows of a good place to stay, cabin, and to tent camp. Have a chance to go there with the wife and the 15 year old. With the Pilot of course, and the bike rack.

Thanks

What areas of VT are you visiting?
Sunday Rider
The Northern part, but will go to mid Vermont if necessary. Have some business in Montreal, and we want to go south after that.
Open to any suggestions. The thought was a cabin or lodge first night then camp 4 nights.
Thanks

We like the Smugglers Notch/Stowe area. Close to Montreal, places to bike and hike. Half hour from Burlington, Ben & Jerrys Factory. Don't have any specifics on camping areas, we always do condos..........the Hilton is roughing it for us.

Those sound tempting. I am trying to get the wife back into camping. Her idea of camping is the 3 "H"s, Holiday Inn, Hilton and Hyatt!

Thanks for the ideas though.

My wife wouldn't mind camping, but I don't. I'll mt bike all day, ride dirt bikes and quads through mud and whatever else I can find, hike till I run out of trails, kayak and canoe.....but I don't sleep outside or on the ground. When the day is done, I want a TV, real bathroom, and a bed with a matress. And I prefer the kids to have their own bedroom, daughter snores.

I like camping in the fall season, because of the biting insects. Up here we have the little black flies that will eat you to death and mosquitoes that will sap you to death. There is always one in the tent, that you can't get out.
I think starting in August it is much better.
I also find if there has been lots of activity, I can sleep even outside the tent (which I have done a few times, only rain wakes me up then). So surprised you don't just tent it after biking! But must admit a nice shower and comfy bed, sounds good. But on the other hand, after camping you appreciate your bed much more.
