This sealant is something my dealer offers for $589. Anyone out there heard of this product? Is it worth it? Looking for the best way to keep my leather in good condition (with a toddler on board!) and keep the mag chloride from damaging the exterior in the winter since we live in the Rockies and deal with chemically treated roads all winter long.
Also, any suggestions of how to protect my seats from indentations made by my daughter's car seat?

Any sort of sealant or treatment offered by the dealer is usually a ripoff. Just keep a good coat of wax on the outside and don't worry. Leather doesn't need much more then a regular cleaning and conditioning with common products such as Lexol, etc.
Oh yah, and we use the Prince Lionheart seat saver. It's not super thick, so it allows for the carseat to be locked down tight - but it helps keep the dents and stains down to a minimum.

My dealer threw in the the first application of Xzilon as part of the sale, but it is not worth the money. It is nice at first but after 3 months it just starts to wear off. Even though you can have them reapply every 6 months, its basically paying them $400 in advance to have your car waxed. By the way $398 is what my dealer wanted to charge me for the exterior, glass, leather, and tire application. Like jcantanixon said just keep a good coat of wax on and use a nice leather conditioner. Save yourself the $$$$. |
