Does anyone have any experience with the Green High Performance Air Filter. Understand it uses a woven cotton material rather than cotton gauze as does the K&N.
If so, does anyone know of an online location (store) with a reasonable price. (The folks at www.greenfilterusa.com tell me the MSRP is $85.00 to order it from them...was thinking something like $55.00 would be more like it.) :rolleyes: |

OEM air filters work very well, I just swap them out every 15k miles. I think their construction is excellent, and any filter will struggle when it gets dirty, (green, K&N) etc. I just change them out more often. I pay about $15.00/OEM Honda filter so x3 or 4 is what you would be paying for one of the Greens. My guess is that the Green would be in pretty bad shape by the time I got to my 3rd or 4th brand new OEM filter. Once dirt gets into a filter the only real way to get it clean again is to change it.
Do the Greens clean any better? IMO that would be the real reason to use them but I dont have any issues with OEM filters, Honda spec'd them out and Im sure they are just fine for their application. |

| Just checked the site. Those filters are mighty pricey and plus they need to be cleaned and oiled like a K&N and I think they are made with almost the similar cotton gauze material. No thanks, I think I'll stick with OEM filters or wait for the Amsoil Nanofiber no-oil filters. |

Besides the sound. I wonder if the stock filter flows as well. Most people who buy performance part are looking for increases in performance. Sure the the stock stuff works well enough for 99.9% of Pilot owners, but some want more, and IF you can gain 5HP for $85. It wouldn't be a good deal.
No, I don't know that there are any performance gains to be had from this filter. But it doesn't seem that anyone else here knows either. |

| I think I'll change out my stock air filter for K&N when the time comes but damn there doesn't seem to be much engine performance gains you can do to this car. |

| In the year and a half that I have owned mine, I have not felt the need to squeeze any more performance out of it.. maybe Honda did such a great job that its not necessary. 255 ponies and VTM4 has provided for a great driving experience. The Honda powerplant is excellent, one of the greatest strengths of this vehicle IMO |

you did mean 244 hp right? but i wouldn't have minded if it did come w/ 255. |

just the new vs old method of measuring hp. most new hondas are now listed with less hp, even though it's the same engine. |

I think the '03-'05 were rated at 255 and the '06 was rated at 244, but they used different standards in rating the engines although it's virtually the same engine as stated by 5Gs |

| I sometimes tow 4 atv's on a 16' trailer, i need all the ponies I can get. 5 to 10 more preferably 15-20 would be nice. I don't think an airfilter will do much, from past experiences. i thought the 06 had 255 hp? |
