| Honda care package, any worth?

I have bought a new Honda pilot 4WD EXL RES and the Finance guy persuaded me to take the honda care maintanence package along with theft package. I was only interested in theft package as AZ is top of auto theft list.
Honda package lets me replace parts/labor for free of cost for 5 years... Is this any good?
Just trying to get some opinions before I cancel this... |

I'd bet dollars to donuts that you'd get a better price on the HondaCare warranty from our site sponsor, Hondacuraworld. Check the pricing here.
A couple of members have found the much lower prices online, and were able to get their dealers to price-match and refund the difference. It's worth looking into.
And this topic has come up before; the opinons are all over the map as to the value of the HondaCare warranty. I had one, and would do it again. |

My question would be, If I cancel the package I got from the dealer, will the dealer honor the warrenty I bought from Hondaacuraworld.com?? how does this work in general.. pardon me for such a noob....!!! |

| I cancelled my warranty with my local dealer, and bought a HondaCare warranty online, and saved money. While I never had to use it, I'm certain that my local dealer who sold me the Pilot would have honored the warranty. After all, it's a genuine Honda extended warranty. Yes, if you get a true HondaCare warranty, then it is honored by any Honda service shop.
If you get a "warranty" that doesn't specifically state that it is HondaCare, then you might actually have a service contract. Although a service contract will be honored by any Honda service shop, it usually requires a call to the company backing the contract (delays) and there are more limitations on what it covers (disappointments).
HondaCare is the way to go. Check with Hondacuraworld.com |

I'm stumped, folks. I looked at the prices of HondaCare for the Pilot at HondacuraWorld and I can't figure out why on earth the $100 Deductible version costs $100+ more than the $0 Deductible version.
Is there a typo in the product description or am I just dim tonight and not seeing the obvious ? |

The 0 deductible version starts at 5 years 60 k miles, and the $100 deductible version is 5 years BUT 80 k miles. The 0 deductible starts with a 20k mile shorter term, explaining the difference. You have to click through the links and see all the options, and the pricing pattern. |

Hey, thanks jay! LOL, I was afraid it would be the second possibility and I just wasn't looking sharp tonight.:eek: All those 6's and 0's and other got to me I guess.
So, now I see that, for 5yrs/80k, the $0 deductible plan is $680 and the $100 deductible plan is $580. Duh !

Neither. We base our prices at a tick over dealer cost, and I price them the way they do. Why they do that on certain plans, I have no clue :confused: |

| I mentioned to my dealer at the time of receipt of the Pilot what I could get the HondaCare for online. He beat it by 30 bucks. Don't be afraid to tell them what you can get it for else where. |
