Center console heat - Click HERE for Original Thread

Our 1st Pilot the center console was always hot... just thought it was the wifes cell phone charger
new pilot just noticed today the the heat is still there, no charger inside. is this heat from below the vehicle, or perhaps a power supply for the outlet in the console?
I assume whatever it is , is normal, as 2 pilots had it.
Just wondering if anyone knows the source...Thanks!

Specifically, where are you referring to? Down by your feet, in the cubbies, under the flip lid, by the AC vents? Also, during a very hot day?

I have not noticed this on mine.

It is in the center console and is most noticeable towards the front where the power plug in unit is at. Noticed on a 68 degree day after the vehicle runs for about 1/2 hour or more.
Start out with the console shut including the flip down pen holder. then open it up and on mine there is generated heat... almost feels like heat from a muffler?? radiating thru from underneath, that or an electrical transformer...similar to one say from a game console or a laptop PC they get warm after awhile

I'll check on mine to see if I can notice it. Kinda tricky when everyday is 95+ degrees, but maybe in the morning first thing.

Do you have a 4wd? I have 2wd.

The times that I have take the center console apart I have always been amazed at what Honda packed into that area. The additional AC parts, various electrical modules and a fair amount of wiring. I have always wondered if this was normal in mine also, but indeed it does tend to stay warm on cool days and really seems to trap the heat on hotter days. I keep the center pull down door that holds your cell etc, down in the summer to let the heat out or I get a face full when I open the arm rest :)
