quote: hi Joseph,
here are the prices for your group buy below. These are the lowest prices that we've ever released to keep up with the competition. Please inform your customers that not all "Philips kits" are created equal. There are many companies that can buy Philips capsules and ballasts but that is where the similarities end. Our difference starts with the quality of our injection molds. Compare Xenon King, Xenon Depot and Lava Lighting's bulb bases and it is easy to see a quality difference. We not only guarantee a correct base fitment, we also guarantee that the focal point is correct for an optimal beam pattern. That is very important! Every so often we see pictures from other competitor's kits where their customers seem happy but they didn't seem to notice that their beam pattern was slightly distorted. This is often due to poor rebasing quality control. If the focal point if off by just half a millimeter, you should notice a less then optimal light output.
Then there is our dual relay harness difference. We offer a setup where each individual ballast is connected to a separate relay harness with built-in fuse. This way if a relay does fail, then only one of your lights go out. Our competitors either do not offer a relay setup or offer a single harness. If that single harness relay fails, then both of your lights go out... this isn't a good thing especially at night!
The next difference is the quality of our wiring and connectors. We've tried both Molex to AMP and found something better. Wiring and connectors are important in these HID applications because they are subjected to moisture, heat, high-voltage and currents. Being in the business since 2001, we have tried and ditched many brands and use only the best in our products. The connectors and wiring have made a difference in the warranty return rates and the longevity of the HID system as a whole.
Warranty is another important characteristic of our company that sets us apart. We actually honor our warranty claim for 5 years (the longest in the industry) unlike other companies than have bailed on their customers after the initial purchase. It's sad but it happens more often than you may believe. Many customers from our competitors have bought from us after not being able to get a warranty claim from their previous supplier. But there is a catch for this group buy if you'd like to see it that way. Normally we cover shipping costs to the customer for warranty claims but for this group buy there will be a $15 S&H cost for each claim to help lower the group buy cost.
My recommendation for Honda Pilot owners is to run the dual relay setup especially because it's a new car. This way dealerships can't blame the owner for warranty issues caused by the HID system as it bypasses the factory wiring.
There are 3 numbers listed below as XXX/XXX/XXX. Each represents the HID system as follows:

just looked ove rlava lighting's webpage...doesn't list the h11 as an option for the hid kits...does this just mean it hasn't been updated?
also what type of install would this be if we did this for the fogs as well? |
|
|
| bright06Pilot |
he's got H11s because he installed them in my '06 Pilot. Installation took maybe 20 minute?? Wasn't keeping track of time but I know it can be done faster just that we took our sweet time deciding were was the best place to hide all the wires for a clean install.
found this for the foglights install

haven't had a chance to look at my fogs but it looks straight forward. The back cover behind the foglight needs to be drilled so that the HID bulb can be connected to the ballast. |

so we have 3 confirmed, 1 possible:
+1 my fogs
+1 Yukon Denali
+1 GS300
?1 Jay
Keep it coming so we can at least hit the 2nd price break. The price may be only $10 - $20 more than other group buy but the kit quality difference and 5 year warranty is worth it! |

looks like no one is interested in this gb...kinda funny we have possibly 4 on this but of different cars. i'd like to see more ppl would join this gb...i was shooting for the lowest price possible. the yukon and gs300 are those from 2 different forums? or are these your cars? |

| yeah this group buy is a dud. The other two cars are for my buddies. See if you can find others to join. I might be able to get a couple more friends to buy. |

i talked to a few friends this weekend...since they didn't have projector-type headlights...they weren't really interested. is there a page which shows their warranty info. i'd like to read up on it.
btw, how does this hook up to the car for power? the battery? i've heard thats a good place. can you also post the instructions on mounting these things...the more i know...the more confident i'll be installing these. |
|
|
| bright06Pilot |
my kit hooks up directly to the battery. It's a dual relay harness setup unlike Xenon King's setup.
I would suggest emailing Lava Lighting directly for the installation guide and the warranty info. |

| so i installed the hid kit i got from lava lighting about a week and a half ago. been busy with work, so didnt have time to take pix and post. anyway, the kit was pretty much plug and play (phillips 6000k)...it was jus a matter of trying to make the install as clean as possible (i.e. not to have dangling wires). only thing i wish i did was to have heat shrink (e.g. shrink tube) for the stock head light plug rather than use electrical tape. but it's on my list to-do's as soon as i get some free time. other than that...i think the output is perfect...but it's hard to capture pix to show the improvement of visibility at night. here are a few pix. and jerry from lava lighting was cool...answered all my quesitons even though he was on vacation. |

| wow, thats a pretty good cutoff for a halogen projector with an HID kit. pretty much glare free. :29: |
|
|
| rlapid |
| WOW jay3!! those are the stock projectors? the light output looks awesome, and glare looks to be minimal. how does the appearance and color of the 6000k kit match up with OEM HIDs found on some high-end vehicles? i would be interested in getting a kit if it looked OEM (not too blue or cheesy-looking) |
