quick question...lets just use the phillips 6000k as an example: priced at 415, what is the difference between this and the bi-xenon at 550 with the same temperature 'rating?' |

The $415 set only has the low beam, so you would lose your high beams. The bi-xenon has both a low and high beam. |

the 06's have a seperate low and hi beam bulbs. are you saying that the hi and lo beam circuits are somehow run in series? i wouldn't think so. but pre 06 i believe, key word here is believe, the high and lo were integrated into 1 bulb with dual filaments. |

| the bi-xenon kits are only available for vehicles equipped with the bulb sizes H4, 9006, and 9004. Those vehicles use one bulb that functions as both the high and the low beam. with any other bulb size, to upgrade both beams you would have to purchase a seperate single beam kit for each. |

I have been using a Philips 4300 HID kit that doesn't have the high beam for 2 years now and they are fantastic. I am interested in getting one of those bi-xenons to replace them because there are rare times when you need to flash incoming traffic or the car in front of you.
I bought them from a company in Canada and read somewhere before that there are a lot of problems when it comes to durability when its bi-xenons. How true is this? Are the bulbs bi-xenons to begin with and you just replace the base to fit the H4 socket or did you put something in the bulb like a rotating reflector to make it reflect higher? |

| The bi-xenon kits utilize a dual filament bulb with a moveable part that angles the bulb in the housing...it is by all means just as durable as the single beams, also keep in mind that all of our kits come with a one year warranty... |
|
|
| malmon |
| Is that movable part inherent to the bulb originally or is it something that you added? |
|
|
| XenonKing |
| no the bi-xenon bulbs are produced that way, they are not altered single beam bulbs |
|
|
| malmon |
| And is that for both McCulloch and Philips bulb? |
|
|
| XenonKing |
| yes, both McCulloch and Philips use the same technology in regards to their bulb design |

Received the kit today and installed it as soon as I got home from work. The quality is exceptional, far from the one I bought 2 years ago. There is a space right next to the headlamps where you can attach the ballast with the provided zip ties.
The light output is pure white, very nice indeed. Even have high beams. :) |

I got the Philips 4300K bi-xenon for $520. I can't say enough about the quality compared to the old one. The wiring harness has a couple of relays, fuse and an electrical module. And they are located here in southern ca, so in case we need any warranty replacement, which I doubt, it should be easier since it is geographically near.
I have to remove this plastic cover to reach the pillars holding the radiator to which I attach the ballast on each side. |

Ryan,
any further news on your company becoming a sponsor and/or the group buy? I'd be interested in the 4300K bi-xenons.
